Su-24 is too fat to do that successfully, usually I just come in low and fast, do a shallow climb towards the target and break 90° and dive back to the deck after bomb release. Usually have to accelerate back to speed afterward but haven’t gotten nuked by SAMs yet (knock on wood) with this method

Those are both better than what Russia gets, but I would support an F-111F coming in with only 2 9Ls.

It’s significant easier in a phantom than an Su-24.
You aren’t wrong about the fuel consumption however.

I’d argue that the A6 is the worst “free” jet in the mode, while F-4/MIG-23MLD/SU-24M are the strongest with the rest having their uses, but the problem is that as the frontline airfields get nuked, the match inevitably devolves into F-4 vs the world as the map is big and subsonic aircraft take forever to get near the frontline.
If not the F-111, I would much rather have a free F105 given it’s iconic status in SEAD wild weasel missions, and the fact it was designed as a fast, low level tactical nuclear bomber in the first place, this gamemode is like it’s entire reason for existing in the first place…
Why is the harrier in ban list, is it good?
It has Aim-120 ARH missiles which don’t fit the event, and it wouldn’t be balanced.
Could they not ban the missile type? Like they gave the F-4E 9Ls which it doesn’t get

High Speed alone is already enough to dodge guns. It rarely happens US preset will get on your six within gun range. Also keep in mind that you can still drop the nuke to ruin the day of any tail chaser.
Vice versa Phantoms can be easily intercepted with R-24R from Mig-23. Radar is good enough to use them low alt. Pitch down nose a bit to trigger MSI mode and ground clutter goes away, lock’n’shot. Even if they manage to pull something off to break the lock, R24R has IOG. Russians just on a different tech level than US in this event. Su-24 don’t have to fear radar missiles (cause of F-4E) and MAW makes sure you’re almost immune to Aim-9L.
Thats why Su-24 is superior as nuke carrier. There is almost no way to intercept them, when they’re low and max speed.
There’s a reason why the F-111F is 11.7, while the Su-24 is overtired at 11.3.
If Russia should be nerfed in any way, swap the MLD for a normal ML.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but I kinda wish there was a Simulator difficulty for this.
Could you imagine flying along and then BAM, taken out by a missile your RWR can’t detect or endless missile launch sounds from your RWR
I get that that would be a bit much at this low of a BR, so hopefully it comes to top tier as well (with accompanying strategic and/or stealth bomber/fighter-bomber aircraft).
I’m primarily biased because this is the first map that actually has space to fly up and get up to (or close enough) to your airframe’s maximum operating speed and thus everything including how your missiles perform will be better, you have more space to dodge missiles, etc, etc.
Still happy that this will/could be a permanent game mode, though. It, along with Infantry, has insane potential and could see an increase in average player counts (I believe we broke the record again? Crazy).
ALSO can’t wait for the more modern variants of both strategic bombers in this event. Dumb bombs/nukes are cool, but could you imagine simultaneously dropping 10+ JDAMs on a single AA or all JSOW/JASSM at an airfield? Insanity. I’m not knowledgeable about what the Tu-95 carries outside of the humongous FAB-9000, but I imagine that too carries Russian cruise missiles? Either way, it took a while but we are eating good.

You realise this is also being played by players that have never touched jets? and they are forced to learn so much in such short time to get the new bombers
