Took out 2x OSAs earlier with AGM-88s and it rewarded next to nothing in terms of SP.
One issue is that AA systems respawn without warning far too fast, I had to RTB after clearing a Depot, and by the time I got back I had them spawn underneath me. Didn’t end well and has really frustrated my planning of deeper strikes since I can’t reliably predict static threats. Pop up ones are less an issue due to them being singular; though it is annoying that they don’t need to even slow when firing.
Nothing new there though, thats been the most annoying thing in every single gamemode with AI controlled SPAAs.
But yeah, does destroy the value of actually doing SEAD and not just skirting the edge of the map (which I do all the time) if the SPAA is just going to return rather quickly.
In fairness, SEAD is exactly that: Suppression of enemy air defense. You’re meant to do it in coordination with an attack to shut them up long enough that the actual strike can get through, which the game allows for.
I do think the rate of respawns should be slightly reduced though.
Yeah… but even if you got the ENTIRE team to all focus on SEAD bar 1-2 players with a nuke to hit an AF and actually coordianted that level of an attack. How much could you actually achieve, I doubt you could actually take out that much in a single pass. AI interception of weapons is too good.
Though my original point was just increasing hte SP score gained from actually doing SEAD, especially if actually using ARM rather than how SEAD would actually work. Id be all for them constantly respawning in something like ASB, so long as there was suffecient time to create a hole and do something with it, either as a team or solo
It’s just a matter of getting the missiles in the air, but HARMs tend to handle the SAMs quite well. Was playing A-10 earlier with friends for the fun of it and had a random A-7 come over and take out two SA-8s in the region which opened us up to attack freely. Rewards for ground kills and in general and particularly SAMs should probably be higher though.
Ive had mixed success. Usually finding it needs something like 2x AGM-88 when fired at sub 10km and 3x AGM-88 when fired from around 15km per OSA and thats just a lone OSA, not a block of SAMs where all 4 can be interecepted at once.
Actually having better success just gunstrafing the long ranged sites than uisng the AGM-88s

the one game i played today there were like 4 of us doing the sprint down mid strat and we won the game in 30 minutes with over half our tickets left. in your image you have less than 1000.
You can easily win the game without spawning a strategic (just shoot down the enemy one)
will you be able to shoot down all 4 that we spawned in that game though?
Yeah had a match not long ago that went 1:26:30 with over 10 total strategics spawned all shot down. Ended on points.

Any thoughts on reworks of rewards in the mode/upcoming similar mode?
The problem is the rewards for ground strike via conventional weapons is too underwhelming which forces players too shoot down enemy jets like in ARB and get nukes. This coupled with the powerfull AA AI makes the SEAD aspect of the game almost negligible.
It would be nice to see better rewards to take out extremely high value AA targets diversifying the goals of the mode.
