This must’ve been funny to the enemy team lol
I’m not too far behind you here at 1 hour and 11 minutes
You’re spot on, the reward imbalance is the real issue. The mode is clearly built for CAS/SEAD and objectives, but the game still rewards furballing more, so that’s what people do.
And honestly, the SPAA should be beefy and smart. Especially with anti-radiation missiles in play. That part feels intentional. The problem is the risk/reward just isn’t there, so most players ignore them instead of engaging with the system.
Your cooldown idea is actually pretty clean for stopping the suicide loop. I’d just be careful with forcing starter aircraft cuz that could feel a bit restrictive. But yeah, if they want this mode to play differently, objective play needs to pay.
Yea the aim9L did help F4E out a lot, but personally I still don’t think that’s enough cuz the radar and aim7 on F4E is still useless
Great…yesterday I got nice new matches all day long…
Today everytime I joined a match it was almost over already and I had to fly across half the map before reaching the enemy team…
I love how this event has turned into F15 vs MiG-29. Played a couple of matches in my own su24, and I was one of 3 people in my team not in a fighter. Due to this, 90% of my munitions were shot down since there was no one else near me to suppress. I tried stock grinding my BM that has been sitting in the hangar, just to never get within range of literally anything to use the rockets. It is 1000% more fun to play as the US in this mode than as Russia for sure.
Any tips for how to get started with this? I’m not gonna lie I’m mainly a groundpounding noob, so missiles/top tier jets make me want to kill myself in front of my mother, but I want a Tu-95/B-52. I could use some pointers (and the idiot devs can’t make a good top tier jet tutorial if it meant saving their worthless, degenerate skins.)
The American faction can’t find matches because there are too few players on the Soviet side. I’ve already been waiting for over an hour.
Please take measures such as enabling mixed matches or providing bot matches (눈_눈)
Have you tried playing 10.3 to 11.7 br bracket?
lol I gave up on the higher bracket after 2 hours.
3 seconds with just the f4e in queue and im in a game
This game mode is a gem. I never find high or top tier air battles fun, but this game mode is genuinely the most fun I’ve had in high tier air I hope to see it improved and returned soon after the event is done! (I also wouldn’t mind the nuclear part still being present in its return as its a really fun aspect)
No, after the matchmaking separation, I mainly build my deck around the F-15A at around 13.0 (12.7).
Do lower ranks around ~11.7 match more quickly?
It took me 3 seconds compared to sitting 2 hours for nothing.
I cannot agree whatsoever. This game mode is absolutely fucking awful. How the hell is anyone supposed to play this without already being a crack addict to modern fighter jets? Not everyone plays these stupid things, not everyone can spend 23~hours a day playing these, and some of us just want to try and get the new event vehicles without TEARING OUR EYES OUT from frustration. Are you blind already?
And no, not everyone wants to watch eight hundred different 40-min documentaries of tutorials just to learn how to play this garbage. It’s all just stupid, and it goes to show just how stupid gaijin is, again. They can’t grasp the idea that ‘hey, if we make a game that covers a wide base of machines, we’ll have a wide base of players - so maybe we need a wider base of tutorials!!1111!!’. So yeah, it’s a piss poor event by a piss poor dev team, trying to make more money.
Yeah lower brackets is almost instant, if anything for more comfort you can bring anything that isn’t above 12.0, I bring my F-4J because a PD Radar is essential in this event and I get matches in the US almost instantly
Hey I’m a fellow ground main, and these past two days have been a crash course for jet gameplay, I was in the same boat as you, but I do have some tips. Have you played any matches yet? If yes, did you complete the first stage, it ended yesterday, do this by checking events>Nuclear Thunder>Rewards>Whatever event vehicle you want>Stages. If not, you can still fund the first stage by getting 999 GE from the Gaijjin store. Currently we are in stage two, also I can pretty much only help if you want the B-52 by playing US. If you are grinding B-52, use the F-4 Phantom, and use the air to air loadout.
Missiles: Missiles are the main weapon at this BR, so it is of the upmost importance. There are two types of missiles, IR and Radar, you can check this by hovering over the missile information. IR missiles are, in my opinion, easier to use, as you can press spacebar (assuming you have a keyboard) to begin seeking, aim the seeker towards the enemy, and when it turns red, fire. REMEMBER NOT TO FIRE IF IT IS RED OVER AN ALLY, YOU WILL TEAMKILL AND GET FINED 22,000 SL!!! Radar missiles are slightly harder to use, but if you have your radar on the right setting (I forget which it is) you can press the begin tracking icon at the bottom of your screen. When it shows a green box around an enemy, press space to prime the missile, then space again to fire. AGAIN MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT FIRING TOWARDS A TEAMMATE. Also set an easy keybind such as the control or command button to use countermeasures, which distracts missiles and helps throw them off. Also if your missile goes for a countermeasure, try again, eventually your opponent will run out of countermeasures. Anyway that’s my crash course. PS. Fly low and fast to avoid being detected by the SPAAs and enemy’s radars.
Well, if you don’t play with planes, you don’t participate in the event, and that’s all there is to it.
No physical law states that the event must be for everyone.

no tutorial ah ?
