Or this is to justify them selling many more $70 premium with electric countermeasure equipment in the future.
"Hey, you player complained about this being too hard, here’s a vehicle behind pay wall that will stomp all AAs ! "

I’ve been playing nuclear escalation all day long as US, and Russia has won every single match. If I take out my su30sm2 and play I can just spam the kh31pd and get 2 kills everytime. Its so easy just take off spam them off, land and rearm, repeat.
NATO ordinance can’t even make it to the targets. The game mode was genuinely better the last time they had it going than it is this time.
say it louder. its a fcking joke they only buff eastern nations. the addition of the s300s to the mode is supposed to bring balance ??? when theyre firing from the same distances as the buk were used to??? and the enemy players are still flying over ours heads drinking coffee and spamming missiles when blues barely even survive at close range??? …NO GAIJIN nothing has changed the reds always have to have the advantage and the upper hand in every fckin match in ncl .esc. BUFF THE BLUES AAS OR NERF THE DISTANCE OF THE S300. Wake up stop feeding us useless fckin lies.BRING REAL BALANCE TO THE GAMEMODE
After the changes made to the long range AA in the last few days, there has been much progress in the feel of the mode but it has really highlighted the MAJOR issues with the short range SPAAs. The Ito-90 and the 2S6 are completely broken. Line of sight and AI use of radars are the major issue. Flying treetop level and getting launched at through trees at 10km while there is no line of sight makes for a very unenjoyable experience. Here are some things that in my opinion need to change, in order of importance, for the SPAAs:
Missiles going invisible if they hit a tree. A missile should detonate on a tree and not carry on, let alone be invisible. I’m not even sure how that can happen but here we are.
Some kind of line-of-sight system needs to be implemented. SPAA should only be able to see, aim, fire at, and track aircraft that they can visually see.
A reaction time simulation would be much appreciated. Once an SPAA sees their target, they should have to stop moving, and take about 10 seconds to acquire the target before launch.
Units should be changed. “Russian” side should have their 2S6 changed to the ZSU-23M4 with the Igla missiles. The “NATO” side should have the Stormer-AD. Dug in SPAAs should be 1x Tor-M1 for the “Russian” side and 2x FlaRakRad for the “NATO” side.
These are a few thing that would make the SPAAs much more balanced whole maintaining lethality for those who get too close.
Very good suggestions
that’s actually very reasonable.
To add on to the line of sight issues, the AI SPAA are faking using their radar, as they always know where you are regardless of if you are getting pinged or not. They should be forced to keep their search radar always turned on, and only be able to track targets that show up on that search radar.
Pretty reasonably said, SHORAD for sure needs something done. AI AAA acts like they have access to something similar to Link 16 (Like how Nuclear Option does it) yet the players have no access. Either remove it from the AI or give players the Link 16 equivalent.
Unlike the M3 they can only track one thing at a time
the s300 is way worse than the buk and way easier to destroy its radars
Some more feedback
The S-300 air defense system is much easier to deal with than the Buk-M3, but the annoyance factor remains; the Red side’s air defenses are much more aggressive than the Blue side’s.
The S-300 fires at everything it spots, whereas the Blue side’s anti-air units play passively.
Even though the game is now balanced in terms of capabilities, the annoyance factor remains because, when playing on the Blue team, your RWR starts beeping incessantly the moment you take off… from the airfield furthest back on the map, and keeps going throughout the entire match.
I think the difference in how air defense systems behave needs some tweaking, either both sides should play passively or both should play aggressively.
Because the constant RWR beeping all match is really annoying; the Red side doesn’t have this problem.
Regarding the ITO anti-aircraft systems specifically, I also think their behavior needs adjustment; the radar shuts off too quickly after firing, and they fire while constantly moving. The radar shutdown delay should be much longer.
Another problem is the aircraft carriers.
The F-18F and F-18C MLU2 constantly break their landing gear when taking off from the Admiral Kuznetsov, making it impossible to land back on it.
Landing F-18s on the Admiral Kuznetsov is also very complicated.
The J-15T still lacks catapult capability, which makes taking off from Blue-side aircraft carriers quite complicated… Sometimes it’s impossible if you spawn too close.
There should also be an indicator on the map showing which aircraft carriers have already sustained damage; spawning on a carrier only for your plane to clip through the deck, fall into the water, and count as a crash—causing you to lose that spawn—is a very recurring issue.
There should not only be an indication of which aircraft carrier has sustained damage, but the damage model for the aircraft carriers also needs to be fixed.
Lack of ESM SCR in Rafale.
The Rafale should have ESM SCR to locate radar emission sources, and when selecting an emission source, it should be marked with the CCIP (in the same way that TWS GMTI marks selected targets) to enable the launch of GNSS AASM.
The Eurofighter and Gripen should have a similar SCR/ESM function for GNSS-guided weapons.
i guess it needs replaced by S-75 now maybe blue team will be able to play then
No, it’s just a matter of tweaking the behavior of the AI controlling the Red side’s anti-aircraft defenses.
In fact, that was precisely the main issue with the Buk-M3: the AI was extremely aggressive, on top of the system being a capable anti-aircraft weapon. That behavior remains the same.
The anti-air units on the Blue side are much more passive; they only attack when you cross into Blue territory or get very close to the border between the two sides. The S-300 AI, however, fires at anything it sees, regardless of distance.

Nuclear Vectors
Another issue lies in the platforms used to launch tactical nukes—the Tornado, F-111, and Su-24M. They aren’t suitable platforms for use at the 13.3 BR level and above; they become severely outdated even when facing 13.0 aircraft.
Even if platforms like the JH-7A and Mirage 2000D-RMV (with no micas) were implemented, they would still be outdated platforms by 13,3 aircrafts.
Ideally, the F-15E would be implemented as a heavy nuclear delivery platform, and the F-16D as a light nuclear delivery platform, for allied nations of the us(japan and israel ).
Both feature the Fox-3 missile and IRCCM for self-protection .
For nations allied with Russia, the MiG-29N or M or SMT is used as a light nuclear vector, and the Su-30MKK/MK2 as a heavy nuclear vector.
Mainor nations may also have their own variations of nuclear delivery systems.
like a Mirage 2000N (an RMV version with 2x Magic II and 2x MICA missiles) acting as a light and heavy platform
Germany with the F4I CE 4 (light and heavy nuclear vector ).
Italy and Brits with Tornado F3 late ( (light and heavy nuclear vector ).
China With JH-7A2 as a light platform and the Su-30MKK as a heavy platform.
Sweden could use the Gripen D as both a light and heavy platform, or simply align with Russia or the US—depending on which side it takes—and gain access to its allies’ platforms.
Delivery game finishers platforms (like the Tu-95M and B-52 were in the previous event) It could be the B-1 Lancer or the Tu-160M.
…As optional platforms for mainor nations H-6N (china), mirage IV (france), Avro Vulcan (Brits)
I want to launch 24 JSOWs with the B-1B.
The aspect here is in the early-warning radar and other associated radar systems. In real life, anti-aircraft systems, especially SAM systems, are linked together, sharing data such as a target’s location and heading such that individual systems do not have to use their own radars for target detection, tracking, or even fire control. This information travels through a secure network specifically for this purpose. Any type of sensor can be linked given the appropriate networking; this includes everything from SHORADS’ radars and individual soldiers on the ground to strategic assets like EWR (early-warning radar) and AWACS systems.
The concept which I have just described is called an IADS, which stands for Integrated Air Defense System.
In real life, you would be detected by a long-range radar, who instantly pass this information through the IADS network. Therefore, as seen in War Thunder, SHORAD systems have the ability to turn their radar on exactly when they need to. Even if you flew extremely low, hugging the ground all the way to the target, you may still be detected and tracked by an OTH (over-the-horizon) radar or AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System). In real life, those systems would have to be taken out to disable this capability.
The NPC AA is annoying. I don’t like it. The first event had two very great rewards. Unique ones. So you just played it. It also had open flanks allowing you to bypass the SPAA horror along the shoreline or through the mountains.
But I simply can’t spawn into this anymore. Its too much beeping and SAMs everywhere. Also looks like Ru dominates the mode as far as I can tell.
Sure this is fine and cool except AA still gets infinite ammo and respawns in addition to countermeasures such as ECM and low observable air launched cruise missiles not being present. Additionally, strategic bombers such as B-1B could beadded as well to assist with SEAD.
Hello everyone, I would like to start a discussion about adding helicopters to Nuclear Escalation.
I think it’s more or less clear to everyone that the War Thunder developers are actively preparing events for a World War mode, so I would like to propose adding helicopters for different flight-related missions in Nuclear Escalation.
The developers have already said that they are actively discussing the possibility of allowing players to use ships and ground-based SAM systems, so I think it would be worthwhile to also discuss the possibility of giving players helicopters.
First of all, I think many players would be interested in playing CAS and attacking ground units from helicopters. However, since the game already has quite versatile helicopters (for example, the Mi-24, UH-60, etc.), I would like to suggest adding transport-related tasks for them as well. For example, transporting infantry or supplies to forward bases so that vehicle convoys can start moving faster from those bases. Or, for instance, deploying infantry onto enemy forward bases to begin capturing them (I think this would not be difficult for the developers to implement, since both infantry and AI for such infantry already exist in the game).
That’s essentially my entire proposal. If you have additions or your own ideas about this, I’d be happy to hear them
I don’t know if you’ve seen it but they did mention helicopters in th latest information post about the mode:
(I also recommend using that thread for feedback and comments)
