Nuclear Escalation Returns!

you are not missing out on much gaijin and some individuals think it should be very hard to play even with top br aircraft

from what i can find the C/D Obama 2nd only used the-78 standard ARM and the delilah-AR(delilah with an arm seeker).
the suffar also used the delilah-AR but it will probably main the ROCKS now.
the agm88 was used but they prefer their own stuff.

Right now the only thing too hard is to not die by a buk,and it’s too easy to kill the SAMPT and to not get killed by the sampt, those AA should be a menace to high altitude targets inside 30-40km, right now the buk is a menace to everything at any altitude, and the SAMPT is a menace to noone at any altitude.

Killing SAMs and long range SAMs batteries is already pretty easy, for how meaningful it is, after a full Anti buk campaign with my squad russian teams folded like paper once eurofighters got out and touched them.

It should be like this with long range AA, lock up the high altitude fight until destroyed, and to destroy it should require some effort.

Frontline AA is there mainly to stop low flyers from pushing the airfields and it’s doing the job really well RN, it can also be targeted easily when stationary (gbu39/FAB1500) and NATO has the advantage against moving SAMs while russia the advantage against long range SAMs.

If the SAMPT was more powerful against jets and harder to destroy, and those AA stopped harassing people at 20mt altitude then it would have been perfect.

you know there are plenty of people that play without a squad?
ideally you should be able to have a good time alone in a 13.0 aircraft(has long the enemy players are occupied elsewhere)

I am having a good time alone too, to kill a buk you need a single run with a single F16, but if you have 4 F16 doing this, then the russians start to get touched without BUK protection

Oh i forgot the deliah, wouldn’t be the greatest in WT but it should be represented

If both sides AA become just token vehicles, may I know what differentiates nuclear thunder from air simulator enduring confrontation.

not being simulator duh. also nukes

Then I’ll just go play top tier sim and get all my missiles shot down by players instead of AI lol, feels the same to me, just another so called ‘stale’ abandoned game mode by the community lol

ai is way more consistent than players also players cant shot through terrain

He posted a well-written reply to the feedback in another thread. The comments on that are typical of War Thunder players; reading is hard.

What I would like to understand is WHY the SAMP/T and SPYDER, of all ADA systems? Easily the two worst in all the NATO nations. Yes, doubling them up sort of increases effectiveness, but as others have noted, it just adds more stuff for the Su-30 horde to kill, and annoys everyone else.

Replace them with IRIS/T and/or Sky Sabre in the field, and add NASAMS at the airfields, so they can’t just fly randomly over blue airfields with impunity(no, you don’t have to give them AIM-9X so the nuke carriers have a chance; AMRAAM-ER is enough). Reduce launchers back to one set per pad, and it will balance out. They have hypersonic ARMs that actually hit the targets; they’ll be fine.

And please fix targeting issues with AGM-88s and GBU-53s.

I find it more consistent to get shot down by players in nuclear escalation but I do admittedly die to ground AA once or few times in some games but I’m willing to accept my experience is not what the average player is experiencing.

i wasn’t really playing to end the game, just to enjoy the SEAD stuff, kinda like playing 2fort just to enjoy the atmosphere of the chaoticness of the TF2 players mind

Peak comment and absolute truth

Pantsir are always static, use gbu39 on those, if you don’t know i can explain.

Agm88 are the only ARM that can kill moving tunguskas, use them for this.

I also use agm88 on buks just after spamming the gbu39 at them, the buk will focus on the agm88 and buy me time to escape.

Each match I’ve played as NATO has been a constant struggle for survival as Buks are extremely oppressive by being able to launch on me AS I"M TAKING OFF with infinite ammo. Knocking them out is not worth the time and effort as there’s minimal chance a full salvo of any muntion type will make it to target. Not to mention if you do manage to somehow kill one and also somehow make it back to base, it’ll already have respawned. This constant state of notching and hyperdefensive gameplay allows enemy air superiority fighters to maintain altitude unimpeded right over airfields (WHAT IS NATO AA EVEN DOING) and launch fox 3s in the best conditions one can ask for.

Gaijin royally screwed that Mode up once more
Can’t even take off as NATO without getting 3 different Launch Warnings on RWR

The whole point of SEAD against these types of spaa its pointless without ECM and coordinates.

Did someone by chance saw a F-15 flying at 60 meters from the ground in the Iran war to drop a JDAM on a spaa?? Ofc not because thats not how it works.

IRL once ypu spot an anti air emplacement, you just put the coordinates in the JDAM and drop it as far as possible, not like rn literally trying to have visual on target to drop it.

This mode has a lot of potential, but currently, it’s a complete mess. AA is way too overpowered, and the BUK outperforms everything else. All SPAAs track you even without line of sight, and they intercept absolutely everything you throw at them—the 2S6 can even intercept Aster 30s. Between the constant missile spam and RWR warnings, you spend all your time just defending, and that’s pretty much all you can do. The economy is also terrible: even if you have a great match, you barely get any SL or RP. In fact, you lose so much SL that it’s basically a money sink. On top of that, the UI is bugged sometimes, and SPICE bombs don’t do anything—I dropped three on a T-80 and only got ‘hits’."

At this point I am completely convinced its purposeful and malicious self sabotage so they can say “See? No one wants this mode, back to your grindy default modes!”. My evidence? Look at the sad sorry state SIM battles have been for the longest time. They DO NOT want anyone playing that mode because its fun and fun doesn’t sell golden eagles and premiums. Nuclear Escalation is in the same boat, too much potential for fun which means less suffering and thus less chance of a player rage buying GE or a premium to skip grind.
