Which was what I was presenting on Dev that given you can only target the long range installations with 31, they’ll end up swamped and no amount of improvements will fix that. Lo and behold, it comes to live and there’s nothing for 31 to target midfield, so the long range AA becomes swamped.
Going head on with a tunguska, waiting for it to fire and then launching 2 agm88c seems to somewhat work, sometimes the tunguska will randomly shut off the radar and the agm88c inertial guidance is currently shit (as is any other ARM). But SAMs will not use theyr search radar as of now, so if you eanna targets 2s6 or oantsir you need to bait them ti shoot at you first
Actually untrue. They do use them.
Explicitly only when firing the missile. They made a fuss about that change on Dev, not realising (giving them the greatest benefit of the doubt, though they deserve it not) it makes absolutely 0 difference. All it does is make kh31 able to detect the threat, but the threat only fires when inside the minimum range of 31, so nothing changed.
It’s as stupid as it sounds.
Yeah i forgot to specify, they won’t use theyr radar if they are not shooting at something, and after that something is shot down they will shut the radar immediately, coupled with the shitty inertial navigation, means that firing at SAMs wich are engaging is not even consistent. The target HAS to be you and the 2s6 need to switch to engaging one of the agm88 for the other to hit the tunguska.
Their ineptitude is certainly something.
It’s ironic that this setup makes the kh31 useless against frontline AA, and the ones with the agm88 attack profile the only ones capable to engage those spaa. Too bad the kh31 spam on long range radars and the SAMPT being a joke basically hand over the high altitude control to REDFOR.
Funny that even on red side is almost impossible to be in green numbers with SL. How bad it must be on blue side when everything hammering them.
one more make russia great again event, especially in nowdays situation
Gaijin wont do that coz then the chinese feel left out and its a large playerbase so gaijin does what they want
The omnipresent AA is just way too much. AA was already somewhat of an issue and this time it’s even more of an issue. The BR bracket also means playing anything other than the top BR, or a few specific lower BR planes, is almost pointless.
The rewards also way too low and need increasing across the board. And unless the BR brackets are tightened then maybe add a considerable reward multiplier(if it doesn’t yet exist), on top of overall increasing the rewards, for playing planes lower in the BR bracket.
I suspect with the player count I’d be waiting 500 years anyways.
The buk while much stronger than the totally broken and underperforming nato AA (I don’t even think the spyders fire at all and the kinematics of Sampt are frankly abysmal) is still not that threatening from experience. ARH missiles in WT just fold to chaff. Problem is its interception capacity but its not like there aren’t the facilities to saturate it.

this is just funny to see
That buk is controlled by khorne berserkers. Once there are no enemies, they just turn on each other.
What’s the point of organizing this damn event where only people with 13.0 vehicles can participate? If the goal was to exclude the rest of the users, congratulations! You did it!
I think another big part of the problem is that only 1 of the bluefor aircraft available have large numbers of ARMs; the most is the tech tree F-18E at 6, and 4 for the other models, while all of the popular Su-30s for every nation get 6 each, which includes many premiums.
On top of this, the Su-30s can still carry 8 more A2A missiles on top of 6 ARMs. F18s, the most capable SEAD aircraft available, can carry 4, 2 of which have to be IR missiles only.
Meanwhile, the only premium hornets that can carry them (as well as the tornado) are conveniently just below the BR cutoff.
Tbh, in this current game setup at this BR Range, which they have shown no signs of drastically changing, the only solution is a bluefor equivalent premium to the Su-30. There is simply no other way to get enough top-tier aircraft with enough ARMs in the air.
A handful of F-16s and F-18s is no match for a team full of Su-30s. Even allowing the tornado would not help enough. There are simply too many premium Su-30s. Bear in mind they also benefit from reduced spawn costs, making it even more imbalanced.
9M317MA is ARH missile. With extremely steep lofting profile, so it takes single second of BUK radar (three of them, main search station and two TELAR with their own unit) to see you, launch missile and it homes on you on its own, courtesy of having stupidly strong radar with ±40km detection and tracking range. And this redundancy is critical, as SAMP-T site can be neutralized by just destroying radar station.
I personally don’t find any issue in the strength of Russian SAM/SPAA. It should be challenging, I hope Gaijin doesn’t nerf them to the point of becoming menial.
The problem I find is rather lack of Patriot/S300, and too easily beatable SAMPT. They’ll get knocked out early and then there’s several 30SM2’s, J15’s etc just hanging around at contrail altitude right above the frontline uncontested from SAM systems, launching ARH on people. Kind of ruins the whole dynamic of layered AA systems enforcing no-fly zones.
I’d rather see them remove some BUK’s and add S300 further back.
I think Gaijin made a mistake in only returning Nuclear Escalation to top tier. Top tier has significantly more powerful airframes and armaments available to the player, and rightfully should mean significantly more powerful AA systems. But it’s a pretty huge shift from what players experienced back in April. I think all of the gameplay changes they’ve made (except for removing the long range AA) would’ve been incredible in the <12.7 BR range - and had it returned at that same BR range with it’s respective SPAA it would’ve been celebrated by the community right now. Instead we have players unprepared and frustrated by the top-tier SPAA/SAM systems.
Seeing as how annoying the SPAA is and how the rewards were mega nerfed, I see no reason to play this mode over air realistic besides for the memes and or larping.
Yes, kinda makes it so almost nobody can give feedback to improve it(unless you have those brs anyways).
agreed. ItO 90M is way too OP. how do you even dodge 50G SACLOS missile? why can’t Gaijin replace it with something that uses IR missiles (like Tan-SAM Kai or something)?
