Patriot is a placeholder actually just for a test, same as S-300. Until they properly intoduced as playable vehicle.
Type 03 for blues should be Ok
They take 4 business day to get to the frontline and you can avoid them by just staying low, they are SACLOS so even 10 sec without guidance is enough to trow them off

In my view, the biggest problems are:
Firstly, the fact that players on the Red (Russia) side can fly over the Blue (NATO) side’s territory without any trouble and kill them one by one.
Secondly, the unbelievable range of the S-300 air defence system; despite no longer having missiles with active radar-guided warheads (such as the BUK-M3), the missiles can still hit me far behind our own front line, which makes it much harder to engage the Red Team’s ground targets (almost impossible).
Thirdly, there is a general problem: when attempting to engage ground targets with IR-guided or laser-guided weapons, it is common for the targets to be missed because the hitbox of the ground targets appears to be located below the map (mostly with moving targets).
The first two points in particular make it difficult for players on the Blue side to score points and get kills, which makes me very sad as, ever since modern jets were introduced in War Thunder, I’ve been looking for exactly this kind of game mode where I can primarily engage ground targets.
Ok reading over some of the stuff here…I maybe wrong but are people Properly defending and bleeding the 300 missiles so they won’t hit them? Nice wide easy direction changes left, right, up, down then up again…NO S300 will hit you from range, keep your speed up! Your RWR will be annoying but…you’ll be alive!
Yaw right. Actually, I am carring a selfish thought: simpler gameplay; enjoying good times with friends; and more highlight clips in matches, etc. Since we have so many historical vehicle models in the game, it’s a valuable difference.
the s300 irl has a 400km range, its a long range anti-air system, the map is what 200-250km?
i think they changed the SAMP/T the last 3 games it was actually doing stuff shooting ppl down, shooting ordinance down but now my rwr wont stfu
Last game SAMP/T just killed me… Everywhere. Across the map. And the oversaturation in RWR …
The devs don’t understand that ALL OF US want less of that BS . Less SAMs . Both team RED team BLUE. Can you let us play instead of having the one overtuned AI crap over another and changing between them .
Let’s say cut all SAM quantity in half and it would be ok.
I won’t lie to you, i can notch and evade the entire stage , players included with minimal effort… but that’s not gaming. It’s “evade missiles” simulator and you don’t even get points for it, so i prefer to die to players than that crap , at least they get points .
Instead of nerfing ALL SAM, they try to overtune the ones that aren’t… Ok, garbage. Unplayable. Then they ask understanding and communication. You don’t listen to crap GJ. It won’t work like that.
Yes, you might think that’s not the right air-defence for this sort of map, but who am I to judge?
There are quite a few S-300 variants with different ranges and overall capabilites, what we have currently is S-300PS system, one of the oldest - range depends on missile variant used; 5V55K (45 km), 5V55R (75 km) (IRL).
for me it´s hard to belive that you got killed “Everywhere” since every game i play the bigest threats are Su30s just flying directly above my head destroying my entire team but maybe i´am not the right person to judge since i don´t play russian or chines aircraft.
Yeah i also believe the goal shoundn´t be to make the NATO air-defence OP they need to find the sweet spot where every play can have fun whether they play russian, german, USA, france… vehicles.
but the range is way to high…it kills me even when i am on the blue team´s side and launches when I start in the middle of the my teams map side
The S-300 just seems to have more effective range (quite a lot) then the SAMP/T
SAMP/T now intercepts 100% of my Kh-31
The AGM-88Cs can´t even reach that far.

Go play it, they possibly hotfixed something.
1 match i fly 8km high SAMP/T sleeps , literally shooting at nowhere.
The next game 1 hour later or something it kills me 20 -30 km before the first bases (not airfields) .
Ofc i tested it multiple times and i like i said i can evade , the problem is … in general why should we have to fly 1h of evading SAMs and 10 mins actually doing something.
It is boring if anything.
I’m not tallking about sides. I’m talking about the mode.
In general i can play both sides and if anything i have better planes on Blue. If i get to much bothered i can play F-16s , F-15s, Rafales, Grippen… It’s not that.
It’s in general that’s not Nuclear Escalation, it has become “the mother of all SAMs” mode.
Speak for yourself, having functional and effective SAM to contend with, play around, protect, and defeat to increase your teams advantage and decrease the enemy teams is the whole point of this gamemode and its a ton of fun. Also, if you’re dying to SAMP/T you and your teammates just suck incredibly bad. By the 10min mark REDFOR should have all SAMP/T dead with the current advantage they hold in SEAD/DEAD and the BLUFOR AA’s inability to do much about it.
Theres a major difference between the Buk-M3 and its missile seeker lock parameters making it unfun and unfair to play against, and the SAMP/T, which does not have the same issue.
