3 days ago they added 1 TADS and 1 TEL per battery to make them harder to kill, they have not been changed otherwise.
I have a 100% loss rate playing as US for nuclear escalation.
Possibly has a bit to do with NATO being stuck with a missile from 1994 while Russia gets a weapon that entered service in 2012.
To be fair the S300 site is WAY WAY easier to destroy than buk was. Usually a salvo of 10ish GBU39’s wipes out the whole site at once if you drop them via that new mechanic directly on each launcher and radar.
I really dont know why they struggle so much with glide bombs, but as a matter of fact - they do.
I’m defending against them, just hard to defeat them when you have 4 sites launching at you simultaneously and got no chaff. Sucks the only gameplay loop for BLUFOR atm is to skim the deck to try to get close enough to engage S300s (if the Pantsir doesn’t shoot you down with invisible missiles or your HARM)
Too bad the TGPs don’t work that far so you have to have someone go spot them and then you can set up engagement spots
Hope they nerf the LDIRCM, it would make helicopters, especially the chinese with those insane aam, very powerful against planes, which are forced to fly at low altitude and inmune to ARH/IR missiles.
Something that may not have been suggested much so far; I would favor replacing the convoys’ ItO 90M and 2S6M1 with ZSU-23-4M4s and LAV-ADs or similar.
Aside from the fact that neither of these SAMs should be capable of firing while on move (especially since they’re almost always without search radar), it happens far too often that you approach depots and get hit by these SAMs without even having really noticed them beforehand. This becomes even mroe of a problem when these convoys spawn close to depots, making attacks on both nearly impossible - even with ARM and bomb spam on such positions, it’s often unlikely to hit anything.
Everyone is moving to Glide Munitions as standard as there a bit safer and at times gives life to heavy bombs that need near 100% airspace control. Its a stand off bonus but a lot of people discribe the use of glide munitions to be a bit like artillery then 100% accurate laser munitions that where used and improved in Afghanistan for example (insurgence at best have manpad or anti-aircraft 23mm does not matter at 20 - 30km up.) Though there is laser guided glide bomb though the laser comes from a drone or ground team though there may be other ways.
For the last 2 decades people where thinking about insurgencies which to fight have a much different need then full nation states. That does not mean one way attack drone build out of scooter engine and raspberry pi is not going to slam into a oil terminal from some insurgency group but you wont see 90 at once. The fiber optic drones though are here to stay as there is no easy fix for them.
Also in difference of the situation 1990s where not a great time for Russia for weapon developments. China I don’t know but there moderation started after the 2000s middle eastern wars especially Iraq. China was sort of a Tank force nation with the whole peoples war concept which such weapons like the AGM-88 is a nice to have but not a need. They might have had something before that on a prototype bases but I don’t know but Western military tech was considered some of the best in 1980s though to the 2000s.
Very true S-300 is a versatile, reliable, cost effective platform though not the best out there it does the job. You can also swap out the missiles to different generations like all weapon systems. Patriot has some different missiles some are really not good anymore but ammo is ammo if you are strapped…
Even better seeing how AGM-88s don’t like to track the patrol Pantsirs (either smacking the ground for no reason or well detonate early) while the foliage prevents IR or visual lock to get them with anything beyond dumb fire bombs… while the Ai can see you just fine and fire missiles through the forests.
With the introduction of the AARGM-ER will it be added to both the F/A-18E and F-16CM PoBIT? If it’s only for the F/A-18E would it be possible to add the AGM-88J SiAW to the F-16CM PoBIT and F-15E to allow USAF aircraft to also posses potent ARMs?
Tbh, they need to fix the AGM-88C seeker first. It’s missing targets sitting completely still with the radar on
not sure how I feel about the changes, not long after the game starts the teams mages cast sleep on mid range AA and it becomes large ARB with spawncamping and nukes
If the TADS systems are destroyed it needs a timer to refresh the site, the Buk needed a nerf but I haven’t seen S-300s accomplish much
Man…🤣🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Stop believe everything in Ads
S-300 have about of 100km max for latest versions, about of 40-50km for earlier.
Same as Patriot or anything else.
All ranges you see in the Ads should be divided by factor 2 or even 3.
I think Anti ballistic variants will have the large ranges mentioned but those are against ballistic missiles and not enemy aircraft
That still wont hit the range its supposed to
The two primary platforms that can carry the missile is the hornets and the F-16 while the F-16 should be able to give it more energy i doubt its enough to actually hit the 150km range
Altitude seems to help more than speed does for these missiles unless you are flying subsonic and 12km is already the point where aircraft start to stall out so you cant really go higher
i think the real issue is that they decided to add a Russian missile with 2X the range and 4x the thrust and somehow thought that would be even remotely balanced
Have they Stealth removed the Pantsir from RED side??? Nice! NVM…I’m blind
Yeah, it depends entirely on what missiles the system is using, they have missiles from 40 to 150km range, under perfect conditions, so like you say, considerably lower practical range.
I think the 400km on is the 40N6 from the S-400 S-400.
