To be fair, they never said they intend to ignore the issue, and actually said they’ve taken concrete steps for a solution, not that their current solution is the correct choice, but it’s best not to put words in their mouth in this instance.

I think the most obvious easy compromise would be to get rid of RP and SL almost entirely from the mode (rewards and cost of spawning in) and just make it be for fun. We can have regular ground/air RB for grinding and then have fun modes where you get few/no rewards. That way the devs won’t feel like they have to make the AA super OP so players can’t just use the mode for easy grinding. Maybe just get rid of or completely slash SL costs for spawning in and cut rewards for killing enemy players/ai down to very little.

As for the fixes to the AA, I think they should have to rely on their radars to detect players rather than just knowing where they are automatically, and there should be a delay from when they detect someone to when they fire, like if it was being controlled by a player. They also need to not be able to annihilate all incoming munitions, because having to spam all your missiles at one unit to kill it and then rtb just to have it respawn is ridiculous. Also them turning off the radar when you launch a HARM at them is just too much, they shouldn’t be able to do that. The spaa bots should be just a bit of a deterrence, let the players do most of the air dominance fighting so some people can be ground pounding and others can be fighting the other team’s players and there can be actual teamwork.

As for the respawning of the AA, I think they should have to drive back to the depot or wherever they were from a further back location so we don’t have them spawning right underneath people and instantly ripping them apart.

My thoughts on supply depots: A while after a supply depot is taken out, a convoy of trucks guarded by AA and tanks should be sent to the depot location to set up shop there, so the opposing team has some ability to prevent it coming back and the respawn mechanics will be less clunky. I also think there’s some potential for rewards and penalties for destroying enemy depots or letting yours get destroyed. Maybe if some of the depots are destroyed around a certain airfield that makes it take slightly longer to rearm on that airfield or something.

It’s just so darn hard to do anything in the mode how it is, you either multipath or fly above 6km to avoid short range AA, but if you fly high you get obliterated by a buk (or the NATO equivalent, but mostly the buk) from across the map, and if you’re multipathing you can’t effectively use most air to ground munitions, but even if you can they’ll just get shot down by the spaa anyway. All the while you have to avoid being preyed upon by enemy players in an area already saturated by enemy AA. The anti air in nuclear thunder needs to be nerfed, especially on the Russian side, or the mode won’t go anywhere and will remain a dud.

I also would like to again point out yhat, player controlled Air defences, and ships, etc would make the nuclear esculation mode amazing in its own right. It would also expand your ability to add things like patriots, and s-300’s etc for player use. I’m estatic
For the posinility of these. You could even potentially add tanks to the game mode and increase the lobby size, add objectives etc

I’m looking forward to the changes you’ve outlined, but I’m concerned that nothing has been mentioned about the very low SL and research rewards, especially given how expensive it is to play this mode.

In order to achieve a result like this victory in the [Nuclear Escalation] Tropical Coast mission, I had to put in a huge amount of work for what feels like a poor payout in SL and RP, even with multiple aircraft and ground target destructions, awards, and high activity time

Overall, I feel that the rewards for this mode are significantly worse than those from the April event, which was far more generous in both SL and research for a comparable amount of effort.

Having player controlled modern ships and aa sounds really fun I would love to see these added being able to help defend the fleet in your own ship or Target enemy ships with your own missiles would be fun

Stating that you understand the balancing issue but not correct them is not a “concrete step”. I would actually like to see these problems fixed rather than hope and assume they will. Contradictory statements do not help here.

No, asymmetrical is good. War thunder is advertised as being realistic, and realistic does not mean every nation fighting every nation. They do need to nerf the AA, especially for Russia, but they can keep one side better than the other and give them better AA but worse ground attack capabilities, and give the other side worse AA but better ground attack capabilities. Everything being the same for everyone is super boring, that’s why some games have siege modes or insurgency. One side can have to work harder than the other, they just need to not be punished for it by paying SL through the roof and losing 100,000 per game.

The point is for it to be “unfair” in certain aspects. I said in my post that for instance one side should have an “unfair” AA advantage, and the other should have an “unfair” ground attack advantage, so that it is asymmetrical but in the grand scheme of things it’s fair. Something can’t be asymmetrical but completely fair in every way. Asymmetry isn’t having differently named systems on each side that have all the exact same capabilities, because that would just be symmetry.

If your only objective of playing the game is to grind, then there’s no point in playing at all. I called it a compromise for a reason. We get a fun mode, and the devs allow it because we aren’t just raking in tens of thousands of easily earned RP every game.

Remove or reduce the amount of cloud cover; this factor is limiting the launch of standoff weapons at long distances, as it is not possible to see the targets (another option would be to add the ability for thermal sights to see through clouds).

I would also like to suggest increasing the stabilization distance limit for targeting pods, as currently you cannot maintain a stable and stabilized sight on targets at distances greater than 20km, which limits the launch of most glide weapons outside the range of long-range anti-aircraft systems.

Regarding the points mentioned in this post, I would like to suggest that in addition to greater relevance in tickets for destroying high-value targets, it is also necessary to add greater rewards (research and SL) for destroying them, given the difficulty in destroying them, and additionally that players who contributed damage to these high-value targets should also be entitled to assistance and assistance rewards.

Regarding future plans for this mode, I would like it to focus on expanding to existing locations and adding new resources, targets, historical contexts, missions, and objectives, in order to explore other scenarios such as the Vietnam War, Gulf War, Falklands War, Iran-Iraq War, Korean War, etc.

Finally, don’t mix the Blues with the Reds; this completely breaks the immersion of the mode, and helicopters could be an excellent addition.

Advocating for unfairness in a game that has an economy is terrible and you’re even going against BVVD’s goal of requiring both teams putting in equal effort to get a win.
