The RED team air defenses are much better than the blue team air defense
potential fixes
Implement the numerous reports for the ASTER 30 missile (only having a third of its kinetic range, missing terminal guidance boosting…)
Add patriots
This is one of the most amazing confirmation of Gaijin love for this game, THANK YOU!
On the topic of the development pathway, from the points BVVD has made, specifically for the introduction of Helicopters to the game mode, it would be very very cool if, with the addition of rotorcraft to the game mode, utility helicopters had mechanics that allowed them to actually do utility missions, like refilling health bars of FOBs or deep territory strike missions carrying AI infantry to a drop point or light tanks/vehicles/artillery with an air crane (this would allow for the addition oh Chinook, Sea Stallion and cargo variants of the Mi-24/26)
I think a lot of players would enjoy the utility missions and would create an additional tactical layer to the game mode (aside of course of standard attack helicopters).
Really hope this suggestion will find a fertile ground.
Thank you again for the wonderful update, you restored a lot of hope.
Strategic bombers with ecm that can penetrate the anti air would be really cool,
also we need more strategic bombers from different countries such as the British Avro Vulcan or the Chinese h-6.
(Also the b-1 would be really cool just saying).
Perhaps at the start of the game as everyone on the Red side takes off at once with a full load of Kh-31s, that single opening salvo just overwhelms Blue SAMs and creates a snowball effect?
Yes, Superhornet is a very nice aircraft to use in this role, and yes, saturation attacks with HARMs do work. But not in the way Red is doing it right now, which is slingling off Kh-31s halfway across the map.
In that very specific case, yes, I think HARMs would work. Playing solo as a lawnmower Superhornet or Pobit loaded with HARMs at a BUK site, I often manage to pick off just a single vehicle, and I consider even that to be a success. I imagine doubling HARM count would have exponential benefits.
Hard disagree. Reaching 11km over Blue turf already means BUKs are firing at you, but ignoring that, a HARM launched even at 11km right above the frontline DOES have the range to reach EWRs and BUKs, but it’ll be so slow by the time it reaches them that they all get mopped up by AA with ease.
A variation of your strategy that I found out to work is a 12km climb starting back from the main base, with a payload of 20 SDBs on the F-15E aimed at previously marked EWR/SAM locations. But that’s not a fun playstyle at all and such actions shouldn’t be the only reliable way to deal with those things solo.
Yeah I have the same experience. the Nebo EWRs are easy to damage but hard to actually kill. HARMs target the top which isn’t enough to kill, and even spraying them with the cannon top to bottom isn’t a reliable way of killing them.
I use the F16, point roughly on the map were the BUK is, multipath until at 30km from it, zoom up to 2-3km, spam gbu39 precisely on the buk veichles and launch an agm88c.
The agm is mostly to distract the buk and buy more time to get back on the deck, most of the time it is not needed, and sometimes they even get rhe buk radar.
Using this tactic in the first 20-30min i destroy all the frontline buks (5 batteries) , i rarely die, and when i do it’s becouse i was unlicky with a plane wich i didn’t spot catchingnme in the climb phase, doing this i rarely die ti SAMs.
Recent air defense balance tweaks didn’t yield the desired results that we were seeking. As a result, the air defense systems algorithms require more complex refinement to improve their survivability against high-speed Anti-Radiation missiles (ARMs) like the Kh-31. Consequently, we have decided to downgrade the “Red” side’s air defense by replacing the Buk-M3 SAM system with the S-300, which utilizes semi-active guidance. The “Blue” side’s air defense remains unchanged for now, though this may be adjusted if the impact proves too drastic. These changes will be deployed in an upcoming update, so stay tuned to the changelog.
In addition to the aforementioned algorithm changes, which may reduce the effectiveness of ARM launches from extreme ranges, we are also working on adding more advanced Anti-Radiation missiles for the “Blue” side. Specifically the AARGM-ER; however, this will take some time and will likely be implemented in the next major update.
So 24 extremely fast and big ARH missiles with a giant kill sphere and proximity fuse every 30 seconds from a near frontline position (4 launchers near frontline, 3 further back) wasn’t much better than 24 of these missiles every 20 seconds? Who would have thought lol
Any plan to implement low radar deadzones for over horizon? Currently the map is perfectly flat, even though because of the earths curvature a point on the ground should only be able to see another point over the horizon at a distance of 100 km if that point is ~785 m up in the air.
Nuclear Escalation would be the perfect mode to introduce MmW too, especially with helicopters being planned adding MmW weapons for the mode would be great.
Which will probably never happen as gaijin consistently over estimates british gear in warthunder, look at the ALARM one of the worst preforming ARMs in game yet cant go below 12.3 but the Kh31 and Kh58 can be at 11.3
