That would probably make it 11.3, do you want it to be that BR?
M833 should be available from the Rise P onward. The Rise P fired at least M833, and possible M900A1, in Desert Storm and contemporary rounds are already available in the same BR range.
nope when RU got 3bm 42 for free none of their tanks went up, so neither should the abrams
When the Char25T got M82, it stayed at 7.0, is that proof of french bias?
Do you really think M900 would keep it at the same BR? It would totally push it up to 11.3 because the Brs are too compressed to put it at 11.0.
Every single argument against correcting the M1 Abrams with M833 falls apart as soon as you look at the Leopard 2AV. It’s literally it’s direct counterpart, sits at 10.0, and still gets 105mm DM33. So everyone saying “lol UD main, skill issue”, do German mains also have skill issue? I mean surely you would agree with that given they have nearly the same mobility and protection, sit at a lower BR and get a better shell?
I am talking about M833.
He is saying that in history, the M60A1 RISE(P) should get the M900 because they might have carried them in Desert Storm.
Last I checked, only M60A3 TTS was in service when M900 showed up.
Yet T64B gets 3BM42 at 9.7. With ERA that can stop 774.
T72B and T72B (1989)? 3BM42 at 10.3 with ERA that can stop 774.
T80B, 3BM42 with ERA that can stop 774, and upgraded Kontakt 5 good enough to stop 883, and sometimes 829.
Ariete (P) at 10.7, weak armor, but 120mm DM33 with 481mm of pen point blank.
Leopard 2AV, 10.0, 105mm DM33, plus its fuel tanks stop a lot of rounds from front for one shot and don’t damage crew.
France’s AMX-40, with a 20mm autocannon and a 120 with a OF 120 round that carries 394mm of pen, a near direct counterpart to M833, sits at 9.7.
“BUT THE RELOAD IS SO LONG!!!” I’m hearing all the detractors scream.
For the French? Yes, that’s why they have a 20mm autocannon that helps get kill assists and minces most light tanks and IFVs. They also have superb mobility, just lack armor. Hmmmm, sounding familiar.
And what’s next for the French? Leclerc at 12.0.
Now am I happy that the French go through that big a jump? No. I also recognize that said jump happens because the Leclerc is that advanced.
The Chinese don’t even have 10.7s. They go from 10.3 (where they still have the 466mm Type 1985 sabot) to 11.0. There is no in between for them.
Japan jumps from 9.0 with Type 93 at 405mm of pen, to 11.0 JM33.
The only ones it seems who consistently argue against the M1 receiving the M833 are doing so out of some absurd circular argument that amounts to “Gaijin doesn’t want it, we don’t want it”.
Gaijin is Gaijin. They’re a company. They sell stuff. If players are not enjoying the game fully, learning to use a slightly better round that makes the grind a little more easy is not a game-changing and game-damaging ordeal for them.
For the detractors, it feels more like they’re clinging to the idea that it’s only skill issue. As though twitch shooting is all there is to War Thunder.
If that was all there was to it, I wouldn’t be around, I assure you.
And we already went over the contemporaries you mentioned. The Ariete (P) is unfortunately Italian, but at the very least its gun firepower is stupidly high, and it gets a 6-second reload with a 11.7 standard round at 10.7. Its gun handling is only 6 deg/second less than the Abrams.
I don’t agree with the British being limited to 4 rounds in a first stage ready rack, as I’ve stated. Gaijin should release them to their full 20-round first stage ammo racks, as is normal SOP for them.
Folks mention ‘niches’, but there’s no such thing here. Main battle tanks may have different doctrines applied to them, but there’s no ‘niche’ of what a French/Italian/British/Soviet tank is. They’re all the same thing, a combination of the armor triangle buffed in various areas that those nations find most appealing.
As of today, only the M1 lacks the comparable M833 round in the entire line-up of contemporaries and deals in a round that was developed in the late 70s and fielded between 1980 and 1983.
That means the Abrams gets a round that was only in service for 3 years of its operational lifespan, while the 1985 3BM42 can be found on every single Soviet and Russian vehicle from T-64 at 9.7 all the way up to 12.0.
I stand corrected. Awesomely so.
I’m not suggesting the Rise P and TTS get the M900A1, but they are capable of firing it.
No I caught your meaning, not a problem. But it is telling that the T-64B gets a service round from 1985 that is still in use today in a 3rd-gen format, and is currently active in the game, and we’re using 735 and 774 from the 70s and early 80s.
It’s quite funny how you’re over here complaining about if the M1 105 gets the M833 round… whilst you have 0 gameplay experience in it.
m82 is a 6.0 a round that can’t penetrate anything frontally other than cars / light vehicles, and its a round that is sub par to what it already has, and you some how think that it equates to 3bm 42?
It’s quite funny how you missed several times where I explained why it is irrelevant to the arguments I put forth and that there are also multiple people here with great performance in the M1 arguing against it. Also matters of balance involve all vehicles at the BR and all players who play within that BR.
Good stuff.
Could you do one at 200m next?
I’ll see if the other guy is up for it again.
This is very hilarious to watch while 11.7 Abrams tanks are the only ones to recieve top shells, with 2A4PL or U-E1 being straight up denied anything.
Even more hilarious when you consider that nothing change for Abrams really, all of them still fighting same vehicles.
1.) no one though in their right mind thought the M1A1 HC( but t it is an “end of line vehicle”, so I can understand them wanting to improve it, and the Clickbait is just a premium version)or even the OG M1A1 needed better shells.
2.) the OG M1 has been missing M833 for a long time regardless of whether it went up in BR.
Because they really are not a fond of ideas of adding more 3BM shells to differentiate, aka 17,26,29,32, or 20,36.
Then again T-64BV or T-64B model 1984 in game we have is really slow with nothing to ever help it with, so it’s 120S case of slow.
Gaijin has their own and only trustable statistics.
We once had 100% trustable statistics from K-2 youtuber, USA teams still pulling 30% WR even after buffs, highly doubt it changed to better after even more purchased Clickbaits.
I don’t agree with the HCs getting M829A2, but that is an entirely separate issue from the OG M1
