Poland is unique enough to get its own tree, and while the Netherlands would work as a German subtree I think a BENELUX tree would be more flavourful.

And people should accept that countries bought their stuff and that means occasionally other countries will have vehicles they also have.

Germany, for example, borders France. Because of this, all the countries that border Germany should be given to Germany? It’s the same with Sweden and Norway.

Norwegian vehicles are already in the Swedish Tech Tree. That decision has been taken by Gaijin. And sure, let Denmark go to the German Tech Tree, but try having fun convincing people that.
It wouldn’t make sense to incorporate any country as a German sub-tree, they don’t need it.
I don’t understand for what reason you’d think Poland would make more sense than Norway to be incorporated into Germany though, Norway has had much more German derived equipment than Poland does…
There is no formal statement that they are part of Sweden in the game, so anything can be done with Norway.
No sub-tree = not part of a tree

But to entertain the wierd logic you are trying to apply to what i said:
Germany simply doesn’t have a large enough border with any of the countries it borders. For you see Norway and Sweden share a 1630km border with one another.
817KM is simply too small of a border to be considered as a sub-tree addition.
Germany must reach the arbitrary requirement of 818km with a country to have a sub-tree addition. Unless they are sweden where rolling 3 dice landing on the same number can suffice. Which is why Finnland is a sub-tree of Sweden with a 555km border.

I mean, maybe something like this could be a consideration, but Gaijin has put actively hostile nations together under the banner of one of them before. With that president i dont see a reason why it should matter when considering a sub-tree.
More importantly sub-trees should be prioritized to nations than need or could otherwise benefit from the additions in a major way.
As such we should make a variant of the mockup sub-tree for Japan just in case

The 2A8NO was an exception for the future when sweden don’t have any other MBTs to fill the tree
Haven’t begged for more german stuff and I don’t consider changing the MG out makes it a unique vehicle either
He asked for a connection between Sweden and Norway and i gave him 2, you not liking the reason doesn’t mean it’s invalid
The G7 is about economics rather than cooperation during war so this is a rather strange thing to mention as a comparison
It would be 3 sub-trees as iceland doesn’t really have anything going for it
Denmark is interesting as they did have some funky prototypes made before, you could skip on the copy paste stuff here and still get decent stuff
You could also skip them being a sub-tree and made into it’s own TT but that would still pisss people off + probably make matchmaking take longer
As for the V4, sounds like it would be interesting to include more nations to help out Italien TT, the Ariete is rather lacking as a top MBT so they could be given more options but the problem here is that Italy itself isn’t in that alliance and sure, an exception could be made if it truly needs it
Germany has plenty of better tanks in real life and a huge variety of them wether they be used domesticly, export or just prototypes
Which means your problem is with Gaijin not adding the vehicles you want rather than Sweden having lots of leopards if Norway is added but as i said, they could skip on the 2A4 and only add the 2A8NO if they keep adding modern stuff
Well, they are making the Strv123 so that would probably solve “copy paste” issue you’re having or maybe you’d think “STOP GIVING THEM LEOPARDS!”
For why it’s needed has already been explained but let me make it simple to understand
Are you aware the USSR TT is really a Russian TT?
Yet it didn’t start out like that because when War thunder was first made and released, you pretty much only had low tiers, eventually expanding into mid and high tiers but at one point you start to realize that the USSR doesn’t have anything else to add as it had dissolved at this point meanwhile these other nations still kept growing and making more equipment
So how does Gaijin solve this problem?
they turn it into a Russian TT and can keep adding more stuff because if not, the entire USSR TT would have come to a halt and not have most current top tier vehicles which means they’d get absolutely slammed on by the other nations
So if Gaijin decides to keep expanding by doing more modern stuff with each update, you’d eventually need to find a solution for other countries
As for Italy, there has been discussion of them buying leopard tanks in the future but making their own changes to them so this would add even more leos to the game :D
At the end of the day, the norwegian 2A8NO is pretty much only if it keeps expanding so if the nations stay where they currently are in terms of top tier than you wouldn’t have to worry about that
Frankly i’m still not sure what the main issue you have with this actually is
you seem to be under the mindset that if Norway is added than you’d immediately see Sweden get another leo straight off the bat while Germany gets nothing and suffers
Yet people like me are still waiting for more Swedish and Finnish stuff, adding Norway right now would just make it take longer for the stuff I actually want, where’s my damn Patria vehicles, my UDES 20XX, mid tier SPAA with 2x40mm and yada yada
they could add norway, skip every single copy paste vehicle and people would still be happy
this way you get new vehicles in the game and Norwegians get a bit more representation ingame which a lot of people want for their nations
I know 1 guy who’d play sweden if norway got added, not because of some stupid leopard tank but because of the modified Chaffe tank they got
don’t remember the name of it, has laser rangefinder and HEAT-FS i think and for some reason he loves this thing, meanwhile he already has germany cleared and is currently doing top tier USSR + high tier USA
So lets be clear here
Germany is going to get more leo tanks in the future, that’s practically guaranteed as Gaijin has so many options to pick from
Sweden might potentially get something in the future if Norway is added but if it’s a 2A8NO or K2 from SK is for Gaijin to decide
or maybe they just add the Strv123 before it’s even finished, who knows

They would simply move on to complain about the next plausible German originated vehicle that a Norway sub-tree can provide. And it will continue on from there.
So the solution would be to remove anything vaguely German. Which would make the tree have a gap between the M48A5 8.0 and K2A2 12.0.
The most likely outcome is that both Sweden and Germany get the 2A8, which is my main point, not that Germany would be left behind
This is pretty much the same thing as with the 2a7V and 122B+
German players were waiting for years to get a Leo with decent armor and when they finally get one… Sweden also gets another Leo, who already had more AND better armored Leos
Sure it’s technically not the same thing because Sweden is the main tree and not a subtree but you get the point
Germany, who literally designed the vehicle and the addon armor, doesn’t get the uparmored leo for YEARS while Sweden gets to enjoy them and get an even more uparmored one when Germany get their first

I would be completely fine with that, that’s how a subtree should be handled in a tech tree that’s already gigantic or filled with copy paste (similar to Britain with SA), stuff like the modernized Chaffee are cool, but those are not the vehicles that make up majority of these suggestions and what people are constantly talking about, no, those are the german tanks with an insignificant modification to make them seem unique

That would be an entirely separate issue. It’s not the copy paste, it’s that Norway never bought the K2, they just trialed it. At that point why not add [stuff that SA trialed which has nothing to do with SA or Britain] (I actually don’t know any vehicle like this but again, you get my point)
Trialed vehicles from the main tree are already weird, but it’s more understandable than trialed vehicles from a subtree
Although I personally would not be totally against it, I hate the idea that Sweden gets literally every vehicle from every nation just because they looked at its way for 1 second AND they get multiple subtrees AND they get trial vehicles from those subtrees
Yeah these points makes a bit more sense
I’m mostly interested in their SPAAs and some of the stuff they call NM### since that tends to be something they modify enough to be pretty much a different vehicle/variant
i’m not a big fan of the trial vehicles either, still think the T-80 U was a rather strange addition but apperently gaijin couldn’t come up with a better option, some lecler and abrams tank were trialed alongside it and those would cause a riot
I still have issues with how the Finnish sub-tree got added, it’s a lot of copy paste even tho stuff like the Patria has a load of variants that could be added meanwhile the only ones we got is a top tier SPAA and an event vehicle which most people don’t even use as far as i’ve seen
Gaijin is the main issue in the end with their weird priorities for what and when stuff will be added
Also their mindset for what’s considered a valid source as that could heavily change how a vehicle functions ingame compared to similiar ones or RL
I’d like to see the KF41 prototype and Lynx 120 added, both are damn sexy
the 2a4 140mm has me interested but i have a feeling Gaijin either wouldn’t add it or would fuck it up
KF51 feels a bit early but i can imagine it in a few years
2A4 EVO definately could be added right now as it’s the same armor package the Strv122B+ uses
