North Holland: A New Location for Ground Battles!

Flagging has destroyed the forum but it’s the forum’s fault for having the system in the first place. Gaijin ruin their own forum with a bad decision.

That just Gaijin and War Thunder all over. Isn’t it ironic, don’t you think?

I have had about 12 flagged today but no single player can flag that many so who is multi flagging? is it an attack on the forum in general?

I think it’s a moderator. Just a feeling. It can’t be this easy for us to just easily get comments banned left and right?

Where is that function to ask moderators to check our flagged comments, to question the flagging and reverse it? I don’t see it anywhere

Though I’m quite sure a few of these people are buddies and teaming up to ban. I know they usually team up together on comments. And it’s always taking up for Gaijin, taking up for small map changes, taking up against the west in general and definitely taking up for Russian tech here. This cannot be argued against, it’s facts seen here. So, no reason at all this comment should realistically be banned. I’m sure it will be though.

It makes no sense. It leads to paranoia and we all start flagging. Its reached cyber-attack proportions and but ironically its was Gaijins doing. Says so much about the company’s stupidity currently.

Just for me personally, i feel like Eastern Europe has gone down the toilet. It was one of the few maps that had long range (2.5km+) shot possibilities. Now its just close and mid range, which is a bummer to me.

Oops I got the small and large version mixed up, sorry.

The small one is miles better, but the large one isn’t better, but it isn’t noticeably worse.

I’ve had 2 comments flagged today, neither of which broke any rules except maybe off topic?
I have only had 3 flagged comments in my entire time on this forum.

Something is up.

Edit: now I’ve got 3 false flags, what is going on.

You just wait, they will ruin it like Maginot line.
It used to be a good map, one of the better one for me. Now its 50% smaller…
Is red desert still in rotation? Haven’t seen it in months…

Maginot was ruined. They put offmap timers on most of the hills. WT is the only war game which systematically prohibits the use of advantageous positions or terrain. Either by adding offmap timers to flanking routes, hilltops, whole map sections…or by blocking positions with rocks etc. They also added alot indestructible trees on some maps, to reduce line of sights, make sniping impossible. God…

The way players are forced to funnel into each other reminds me more to a WASD ego shooter tournament game, than a tactical wargame.

Karelia is the same exact size it’s always been.
Japan has had restricted hills since before 2018.

Players want consistent maps with spawn protection.

Fields of Normandy is finally playable for non-heavy tanks, far more hills than the previous version.
American Desert is far more playable now than previously.

Edge to edge, yes.
playable area, no.
They added the red zones so that some “camping” spots are no longer playable.

when people say maps are getting smaller, they aren’t talking about physical edge to edge size. they are talking about narrower corridors and restricted areas.

no, i think most players want choice. not to forced into either long rang or CQC. taking away choice by restricting areas is generally not liked.

Yes. but the way they are achieving it is also restricting play in other ways. usually by taking away sniping spots making the average engagement distance shorter (i.e “smaller map”).

which he said he didn’t like.

Consistency =/= not diverse.

But yea, I zero death left Fields of Normandy 100% of the time before they changed it cause I don’t play heavy tanks above 7.7 often.
After the change I can feel comfortable in medium tanks.
Old FoN was terrible.

That is exactly what it means. you are wrong.
Consistency means the same thing almost every time.
Consistency: “the quality of achieving a level of performance which does not vary greatly in quality over time.”

Diverse means different.
Diverse: “showing a great deal of variety; very different.”.

They reduced the playable area. I remember times where you acutally could drive into the surrounding mountains.

Why was my post hidden? What is offensive about it? Please someone do tell?

Karelia has been significantly reduce, not sure what youre thinking about. Japan’s hills used to bebentirely accessible, now all red-zoned. Both of those changes have been in the last year or so. Fields of Normandy has lost the hill with the church on it, making the east side of the map even easier than before to push into their spawn. Same with American Desert.

100% agree with the need to protect spawns, though the eay they are trying to do it i haven’t been a fan of. Spawn areas should be out of bounds for the other team, and be big enough, with enough cover to have many exit points, not just 2-3 that can be camped.

Consistent maps? I couldnt disagree more strongly. Variety is what keeps a game playable and interesting. Everything is starting to feel like the same sort of gameplay. The dense foliage of the Jungle map was the bane of my existence, but at least it was unique and changed up the gameplay.

If War Thunder keeps evolving the way it has been, we’ll all be on a flat football field before long.

This. The hills to the NE of the hilltop provided one of the few ways to rovide direct fire to the hilltop, potentially being able to break your team out of being spawn-camped, assuming you live for longer than 20 seconds while exposed on the ridge.

My playtime is skewed strongly to light tanks and SPGs.
I just dont consider 20’ little bumps (like the gravel piles in the quarry) to be “hills”. I want scale and complexity to maps. Buildings you can drive into, subway tunnels under the main maps, high bridges, etc etc. Make it feel like it has some verticallity to it like real life.

First time ? i had some constructive suggestion(s) which flagged for unknow reason… from this i realize, if the suggestion or comment not fit for the pattern or roadmap or critize which inner circle want, it will flagged… Simple. Not matter if the suggestion/comment is constructive or destructive. That’s sad. Idk, who do it to flagg comment(if it offensive ok iaccept to marked it, but if it not and constuctive why?), this is not a free speech and with this we not able to help development if only accept the comments, suggestions which match for roadmaps. Thats my standpoint.

In other hand good to know, some changes not mentioned, today i realized ‘Advanced to Rhine’ ground map got changed… (Caused harder to attack and manoreve with bigger tank. near the obelisk…) and i not find any source which mentioned it…
