I gave a try for the fox3 meta and i dont like it. No proper fights, way too skilless and braindead gameplay… Many rank 8 planes that dont have fox3 just suffers (im looking at u f16a and mirage 4000) while its now a little better now that uptiers are a lot less common now that f14 iriaf came out. I just want the top tier before fox3 became a thing, it was just better. (I play USA and Sweden btw)

are you really defending current meta? why? how can you like it? tell me so that i can like it as well? Currently all u do is go sideway, climb a little, dodge 2,3 fox3 then sling ur own game ends.

Depends on the nation.
Nations that had strong dogfighters like the F-16 or Mirage are probably missing the days where they could win most matches with relative ease.
But nations that didnt are loving the new Fox-3s.
I know personally that Im enjoying the Sea Harrier FA2 or Tornado F3 AOP far more than I was enjoying trying to play the Tornado F3 or Phantom FGR2 vs F-16s or Mig-29s. Because in that fight, the moment my SARH missiles were defeated by MP, and the fight became a merge, I lost the fight. Not a lot I could really do about it either.
Even briefly when I was playing the Gripen (pre-fox-3) I just wasnt enjoying it. I hated the “fly low, defeat the R-27ER, merge, win, repeat” gameplay and especially in Sim. I felt exposed/lacking without any form of BVR. Whilst ive not played it much since getting Fox-3 (for a number of reasons) the lack of competitive BVR is no longer one of them.
If you enjoy the dogfighting melee that you more often find with props and early jets. Then I understand why you may not enjoy the BVR combat that you get from Fox-3s. But Personally I prefer the more “clinical” BVR combat that you get because airframe limitations are felt less, the balance between nations is rather heavily mitigated because everyone has comprable power when it comes to slinging BVR missiles at each.
(that being said, Fox-3 combat in ARB sucks, because ARB is still designed with WW2 props in mind and not Gen 4.5s with 50km+ missiles. RB EC style gamemodes are needed ASAP)
The only other solution I can think of (and this is assuming you dont want to learn how to play Air Sim) is for them to add air Sim Style brackets directly into ARB. This would give you some days where you would be forced to play those aircraft against Fox 3s and others where you wouldnt be (excluding the weaker Fox-3 carriers like the F-14, Sea Harrier, AV-8B+, etc)
Also deals with the major issue or uptiers/downtiers that currently plagues ARB because its now all optional

if it helps notching a fox 3 is vastly easier than notching a r27 / aim7

Yep, it is, the radars on the Fox-3s are modeled to be very weak (far far weaker than they were IRL) but defeating the radars on aircraft (especially the really strong radars like Fox Hunter on the Tornados) is exceptionally hard in comparison
It is time to play these planes then.

I am good at notching, refer to the dodge 2,3 missile section of the post. I just want something new. The strategy is already optimized and has gotten boring.
Creating a separate game mode would introduce too many complications. How would you balance the BR of aircraft that have had all their Fox-3 missiles removed against the MiG-29? also, it would be absurd to equip aircraft that were upgraded for Fox-3 capabilities with outdated missiles, blatantly disregarding historical accuracy. A more sensible approach would be to raise the BR limit to 14.0 or higher so that aircraft without Fox-3 missiles are not matched against those equipped with them.

with my aim9L’s with barely working IRCCM, facing radar missiles and IRCCM missles? yeah no thanks, i’ll keep my fox 3’s which are the only thing keeping this thing at a higher br… maybe if the br for your silly proposed gamemode was lowered
AIM-9Li is just AIM-9M with smokes as far as I know, I don’t know what are you talking about.
If Fox-3 missille is gone, it would be hard to balance even more because F-4F never had FOX-1 missiles.
Maybe they could add a game mode in the events tab, without ARH missiles or any missiles at all, to encourage aerial dogfights.
It could be fun to try and see if people end up liking it more or less than the current meta.
The L/I is a aim9L with IRCCM, that is it. i think it has slightly better performance but nowhere near the aim9m. but yeah without fox 3 its hard to balance
