I shot a tank, it repaired, someone else killed it. In the past (if i remember correctly???) I would have gotten a kill assist, but I did not get one this time? I’ve suspected this was happening for a while.
Was this a recent change, can someone link the patch notes so I can understand this change?
this has been a thing for as long as i can remember, it makes sense if you track someone and they repair, you didnt really do anything to help kill them
i remember getting kill assists exactly that way.
i think it does do something to help kill them… tracked means they can get flanked, no barrel means they cant shoot back
yeah but them having been tracked or without barrel a minute ago is a lot less helpful to your team them them being tracked or without barrel at the time of their death

its been this way for at least like 4-5 years
That sounds normal, what does still get you an assist however is if you take out one crew at the same time and if they then repair the crewmember will still stay knocked out.
tbh I have no idea wth is happening with assists, the other day I took out a guys whole turret crew and breech, didn’t get a assist on him, but once I ricocheted of of a t44s hull and I got a assist, idk wth is going on with the way assists are working rn
Yeah I noticed this too, bounced a shell off a tank and got an assist from it.
Maybe it somehow hurts the crew and counts as damage and gives an assist?
I believe generally when that happens its because they died like only a few seconds after you ricocheted off of them and the game kinda counts it as a mini scout and told everyone on your team where they were on the map so you get credit for ‘finding’ them
