Insert meme with italy sitting on the corner screaming “amateurs!”
facts.
You are right, either you have no clue or are a bias enjoyer trying hard to keep your bias vehicles untouched.
True.
People get overly fixated on Britain for some reason, totally ignoring even worse nations like Italy.
Meanwhile the most favored top tier nation Sweden have 2 (already 3) op MBT with crazy winrate for a very long time and nobody care or cry sweden bias…
Do you remember that silly explanation about HMD on jas39a? Pretty sure any other nations would fly without HMD until new plane in future updates in such situation.
Well the whole Russian bias comes mostly from the political real world aspect where the whole of the western world encourages talking down on anything russian because they were told their whole life that everything Russia has is shite and doesnt work and breaks down and everything from the west is made by the hand of God and the Pope themselves. Thats why you will never see the same push for Swedes to get balanced nore anything else because its western so its better by default
Maybe? No, thats more than a guranteed thing.
Poorly coded? Being the fastest radar guided missile, with the biggest effective range in the game, and the best acceleration and speed too? You call that poorly coded? I wish the aim7s were that poorly coded too so they could be competitive.
Thats just Gaijin being lazy as usual on their research and put whatever values they can invent or come up with.
If by tournament you mean dogfighting, maybe, but lets not forget how the r73 + hmd combo on the su27 can do pretty “fancy” things. Also, you cant dogfight in regular air rb battles at top tier, simply because theres always a third party coward that kills either you or the enemy.
I agree with you here, the aim7s are in such a bad state, that they can be evaded simply by rolling in a certain way, even in a frontal shot. They lack speed, range, tracking capabilities, lots of things. Also, the F15 needs a much better radar, at least have the decency of giving it TWS mode.
The Su27 is an aircraft that its incredibly good in close combat, and the best there is in the game at long range engagements. It has the best IR missiles (R27ET and R73s combo is way too much), and the best radar missile in the entire game (the R27ER has no counter in the game, nothing comes even close to it, please dont mention aim54s, those are unusable against players with half a braincell in their heads).
I have surely played with its weapons, I have a mig29 and I cant remember how many 40 and 50+ km range kills Ive gotten with the R27ER, those missiles are literally playing the game in baby mode.
I mean T72, T80s, and T90s are literally getting killed by every single makeshift device some junker found in a ditch and strapped to a drone in Ukraine.
Eastern doctrine hasnt changed in almost a century, tanks are expendable, built cheaply and low quality. Naval doctrine is the same, russia relies on volume of fire, they dont need all to hit, just one. Tanks are the same, just send a bunch of them out and you just need a few to get through.
I dont think anyone would deny the fact that if the Russian’s wanted to build something really well, they could, but they don’t, it’s not their culture.
The bias comes from the fact that Russian carousel is a fatal flaw not just in armor theory but in real life as well and is not accurately represented in game. However, the only way to make a shitty tank competitive is to give it artificial buffs, hence the bias, but unlike the real world, players dont want to be a punching bag and teams aren’t offered an advantage in numbers, so we get fake stats instead.
I mean we just witnessed for the first time M2 Bradley’s killing a T90M with just the bushmaster.…
If the playerbase of individual nations is not constant, and if skill level is not equally distributed between nations, fluctuations in win rates among the TS portion of the playerbase could be explained by changes in distribution of this population. For example, experienced players dropping a popular vehicle/lineup after a nerf, and switching to play something else. These changes in distribution are unlikely to change how the majority of the playerbase works, but they can alter the statistics for TS recorded players.
An anecdotal example to illustrate this: the very competitive players of WT that I personally know, have spent a long time in Sweden recently as a result of the SAV being on sale and the winter event being available to grind. They hadn’t seriously touched Sweden in about a year before that, but grinded basically the entirety of the event with Sweden.
However, players who are not minmaxxing, who don’t care about the event, who don’t buy premiums and thus ignored the SAV etc etc, would not have done the same. And precisely because they are a more casual kind of player, they are also less likely to be on TS.
So let’s assume hypothetically that we saw a jump in win rates for Sweden in this period of time, on TS. Could you confidently attribute it to any one possible explanation? Maybe it’s the SAV. Maybe it’s the VIDAR still. Maybe it’s changes in BR in the mid tiers which made, say, Swedish 5.3 less painful to play. Maybe, maybe, maybe…
We don’t have the tools to determine the cause accurately. Only Gaijin does.
We have no way to actually reach or support this conclusion, because nobody knows what the global winrate of anything is.
I disagree, not all lineups and vehicles in this game are equally rookie-friendly. Or BRs, for that matter.
It’s just a legacy system. The way WT has evolved over the years means these things are best understood as emergent properties. They had historical matchmaking in RB, they opened it up to improve team balance without going all the way like arcade, it was an easy, quick fix that allowed them to tick a box and quickly resume work on whatever else was on their to-do list. Pretty much what you’d expect to see in a situation like this.
I would personally do away with national tech trees altogether, so it’s not like I’m unsympathetic to your pov, but I’m also very realistic in that this is a business and there are clear incentives in place to approach things in a certain manner - and maybe more importantly, a divergence of interests and priorities.
Haven’t had any more issues detonating USSR ammo than on any other vehicle.
This, this is my point.
Every single time a debate like this pops up it becomes a “yeah but Thunderskill…” & “Ye, but stuff blows up IRL” & “Western / Eastern Propaganda” argument - basically what this thread has become.
For me it is a case of why a nation is being supplied with more modern equipment (comparatively) when other struggling nations in the tech tree does not receive the same attention.
My question / argument here is why some nations have to be nerfed back to compete and others ignored in competition while understanding that the USSR tech tree needs help. All I want is fairness in the handling of the game & vehicle releases.
I am not the best at representing myself in text - but the mention at the start of the thread is just some of what I see. I play on average a minimum of 5 to 6 hours a day and in the 3k hours plus that I have been playing in total over the years this Air Superiority update is the first update where I am massively disgruntled at the game.
What are the fake stats and artificial buffs?
Except when you shoot their lower plate, it goes straight through the driver into the autoloader and the engine, and then you die.
Most blatant example of BIAS in this game, if the autoloader was a damageable module then things would be more even.
What do you mean carousel cooking off in-game is inaccurate? lol
And Bradley’s been killing T-72s and T-90s in War Thunder for years.
Nothing would change. You’d get shot back, they just would need to repair before reload.
Yeah. Which happens to tanks, like Challenger 1s/2s, Chieftains, and many other non russian/soviet tanks…
So there is french/japanese/american/italian, etc bias, because their autoloaders also can’T be damaged?
How convinient that you have ignored those…
Not really bias. Its just reliance on a mechanic that is not 100% consistant together with what catches spall and what generates spall.
The not 100% consistant mechanic is ammo detonation. It is functionally the same chance of detonating across every vehicle in the game, but on carousel autoloader tanks you are uniquely reliant on it to secure a kill.
This is a great statement.
At 11.7 the only T-series tank with a weak turret is T-80BVM, so on T-80U, T-90M, and T-72B3 people are reliant on aiming correctly into the carousel to get a kill.
T-80BVM being the only tank where you can deal with its turret no differently than M1A1 HC’s turret is a unique quality not seen on the others.
