30mm coaxial? Sweet! Loved the coaxial 20mm on the older French MBTs, missed it on the Leclerc. Hopefully it’ll not be artificially limited to firing only SAPHEI though.
Looks like they love their Ariete.
MGCS is led by Franco-German co-op but many nations including Italy, Spain, Sweden, Netherlands etc are there as potentially project observer nations.
Mainly nations who already have Leopard 2 in their inventory and Italy who’s already seeking Leopard 2 license with some localization by Leonardo as an interim MBT between Ariete and Germany’s future MBT (MGCS or Leopard 3).
It is definitely an attractive project for any european nation but as of now, it only consists of France and Germany afaik.
The negotiations between KNDS and Leonardo also failed, so we’ll have to see if Italy will still acquire 2A8s.
Italy is looking at Rheinmetall now … the Panther Evo project has a loophole with the hull, i.e re-using the Bergepanzer 3 Buffalo hull
Updated Schützenpanzer Puma with TSWA, MUSS 2.0 and drone sensor. Also, MELLS launcher.
TSWA is turret independent secondary weapon system, a 40mm multi-barrel 40mm grenade launcher.
Compared to current MUSS 1.0 APS, MUSS 2.0 has radically lower profile, has improved and expanded sensors, can manage a prioritized defeat of multiple threats at once and can be integrated with hard kill systems.
New engine?
The tracked Boxer lives (unfortunately)
I like it … yes it wont win any beauty contest against Puma or Lynx … but thinking outside of WT terms … its pretty interesting … armies can get an APC in both tracked and wheeled form. No need to maintain different platforms, like Bradley + Stryker for different terrains or mission. You get parts commonality i.e easier maintenance and you get the added advantage of Boxer’s ‘mission module’ system modularity. Anything that can be mounted on the wheeled boxer can be mounted on the tracked boxer as well. Heck you can even swap the modules across the platforms. From Skyranger turrets to the Artillery Gun module. You can get wheeled APC, tracked APC, wheeled AFV, tracked IFV, wheeled Artillery, tracked Artillery so on and so forth … And even non-combat applications like ambulance or observer. Can easily be worthy successor to the M113s used in variety of roles by most NATO armies.
Here is a pretty recent one.
It will take a while; but I know I have more, just gotta find them. I remember having a conversion with a guy on this forum talking about the website, and trying to figure out how it works, because it had a really weird hopper feed system:
Could be Chinese 2A38 on amodified ZSL-92
I’m not sure that IAI Lavi would be researchable vehicle between IAI Kfir C.7 and F-16A Netz or event vehicle in rank VIII
Leopard (2 A-RC) 3 vs Leopard 2A8
The unmanned turret weight is half of the current manned one and the hull hatches is flush compared to the current driver’s hatch.
Updated KF51-U with 130 mm CUT (Concept Unmanned Turret)
The unmanned variant of the KF-51 project.
Multiple APS combination.
MUSS 2.0 + StrikeShield + Iron Fist APSs.
Rhinemetall do nice headlights I’ll give them that, they’re very cool.
Guessing it’s an crew in the hull sort of thing with the crew hatches on the hull roof?
