Honestly if they just linked its range to IRST then itd be good enough for right now.
Like they already have that kind of mechanic in naval with the ship constantly automatically updating the range.

It’s pretty sad that Gaijin has been quiet on Japanese domestic AAMs we could of had stuff since the AIM-9B/ R60 days with AAM-1 and AAM-2 respectively.

Alternatively give the HMS Hood her refit which she was due to go into port to receive before she met Bismarck and add one of her sisters in the 1920’s configuration i’d suggest HMS Howe.
I’m not sure even King George V(1941) could win against Scharnhorst in War Thunder naval. What we need is thing that kick Scharnhorst out of throne, not something more to feed it.

If KGV 1939 did not win, that would be utter bullshit i’m not familiar enough with Scharnhorst as I don’t have her and when I fight her it is in Kronshtadt, but equally by no metric should KGV lose to anything below the level of Bismarck and even then its even.

I’ll just say you have too high hope on RN warships. Their fundamental problem of weak turret, low fire rate and short fuze delay is currently make them problematic and will going to be permanently. I expect KGV is going to be the pinnacle of RN battleships and thats it.
