“Regarding the implications of this, a Ministry of Defense official clarified that the ASM-3 Kai will be a dual-purpose missile capable of both air-to-ship and air-to-air combat. The ASM-3 series uses an inertial/GPS guidance system for the mid-stage and an active/passive radar combined guidance system for the terminal stage, but it will be possible to use it as an air-to-air missile simply by modifying the program.”

French air to ground ASM BHT-38
Was made in 1938 and tested, radio controlled, (per pic), weights 160kg with out bomb (50kg or 100kg warheads were used) scraped when Germany invaded and remaining prototypes captured and believed to helped Germany with their air to ground program, lastly used on the 1944 leo version because the pointy nose helped keep balance from the drag it created, was first tested by being lauched from hill sides and guided. While looking up french guided weapons they made a couple others suchs as a self guided torped missles that was guided by a beam of light shined from a plane and this a auto guiding bomb that corrects it self if it veers off course, “It is a gliding bomb launched by plane and equipped with an automatic piloting device which directs it towards the target. The device consists of the body of the bomb equipped with cruciform wings at the front and at the back. At the front, the bomb is equipped with a combination of five photo-voltaic cells mounted at the front . (see the details attached in the article) to actuate the control surfaces via servo-motors. The cell placed at the end of a wing known as cell of compensation acts on the control surfaces. The bomb once taken of the selected point at a certain distance, one of these cells is excited by the infra-red beam of the target via its electro-mechanical device, rectifies its trajectory by blocking the control surfaces in their position.”-klem

Some people even say the guidance system of the Fritz-X and the Hs 293 was based on this French tech, not sure how credible that is historically tho
