Speaking of Finnish T-series tanks. If Gaijin ever considers adding something unique to Finland again, I’d also want to see the T-55M get its copy-paste symbol removed, because it makes zero sense to me and feels like an oversight.

Those symbols are neat

Unlikely tbh, you can attempt to bug report it or suggest it but given 1 it’s Finnish and 2 they don’t care you’re more likely to get a month ban for even bringing it up because it’s finnish.

As for Finnish vehicles I’d like to see the T-72F1 or F2 (mentioned above)alongside the T55S with Mexas armor or the Finnish T55AM-1 as a premium or TT

Right, except Gaijin uses them to indicate when a vehicle is foreign, and so it makes little sense to deem the indigenous T-55M upgrade as such.

Still an imported T-55, I’d have it so more imports had them, nice bit of detail

Eh I’d say if the names are the same sure but the T-55M is unique to the Finnish and it’s different from all other T55s at its BR. 1 it’s a 8.3 T55 but with a new round and Finnish smoke grenades. Its impossible to confuse it for a different up armored T55 given it has a different name and it’s 9.0

Its a cool historical bit of detail, not about confusing the name

Also be cool to see it in other vehicles that don’t have it yet

Eh but still it makes no sense. With the current logic does the BT-42 need a Finnish roundel on it? Does the CV9035NL need a roundel? How about the T 80 U. The Oplot need one?

Imo they need to be standardized if they use the same name as the original yes if it’s changed then there’s no need.

Not worth my time lol, apparently an upgrade that adds smoke grenades+LRF and brings the tank up two BR levels with the help of western APFSDS isn’t unique but the copy paste Magach 1/2 or Hovet that you can find one nation to the right is. Wack standards I tell you.

Did Finnish T-55AM-1s also receive the M upgrade? I don’t necessarily support it on its own when the MEXAS and L/68 modifications are around, but an “AM-1M” could be cool.

As neat details, yeah

Well, I figured Gaijin would consider imported vehicles that are later modified to be unique, like with Israel, because otherwise it sort of blends in if you assume that “nation roundel=copy paste”.

Not to my knowledge as it was taken out of service before the M became a thing, turns out Soviet armor is basically worthless to keep on if you fight things that on average will tear straight through it.

Not to mention Finland had planned on going all in on the T-72 alongside standard AT weapons from Jaakari which can neutralize a heavier and slower tank like the AM it wasn’t needed as much as better mobility.

It really doesn’t matter one way or the other, its not like you approach a German Flag imported T-72M1 differently to a Finnish flag imported T-72M1.

Not really, if they do if like an option to turn off the symbols they are ugly as hell and take away from gaijin adding the domestic names that are representative of that nations modification. Its like gaijin Adding the F-35 and calling it the SAAB f-35 when it’s not what we called it nor is it representative of the model we have in game which is the F-35 WDNS

Disagree but each to their own

Eh, it’s a matter of consistency if anything. It doesn’t harm anyone to be inconsistent, it’s simply annoying. Just figured I’d bring up the T-55M because I don’t think I’ve really heard anyone mention it despite it being observable from the moment it was added.
