Next patch and beyond wishlist(Everything except Tech Trees) (Part 2)

Did that one specifically have it? Not trying to be difficult, just want to know more about comparison

Gotcha, so they are still accepting it. It’s all confusing lol, I would rather them slap a 120mm on them personally

not really, almost same as the old modification, if you mean the 4S24 kit.

Yes, it had ERA

(and the report is in the description of the video)

Spoiler

CONCLUSIONS FROM THE REPORT.

The BMP M2A2 ODS SA is superior to the BMP-3 in terms of projectile and bullet resistance. It is superior to the BMP-3 in terms of mine protection due to two sheets of aluminum and steel installed on the bottom, a polymer mine mat mounted inside, and shock-absorbing landing seats. The side projection provides protection from a 30-mm projectile of the 3UBR6 shot, but does not provide protection from a 30-mm projectile of the 3UBR8 shot. The frontal projection of the BMP M2A2 provides protection from a 30-mm projectile of the 3UBR8, which is higher than the level of protection of the frontal projection of the BMP-3. The frontal projection with DZ blocks provides protection against cumulative grenades of the PG-9VS and PG-7VL types. The side projection with DZ blocks provides protection against cumulative
grenades of the PG-9VS type, does not provide protection against the PG-7VL type grenade. 2. The BMP M2A2 ODS SA is superior to the BMP-3 in terms of firepower: the accuracy of fire of the 25-mm automatic cannon M242, it is 2 times superior to the 30-mm automatic cannons 2A42 and 2A72, which increases the effective firing range.

In terms of armor penetration of the M242, the 25-mm BPOS is 2 times superior to the 30-mm BPSS of the 3UBR8 shells. The BMP M2A2 ODS SA is superior to the BMP-3 in terms of operational and technical characteristics: the ability to access the fighting compartment from the troop compartment; maintainability of the power unit, generator, fighting compartment and gun barrel; duration of maintenance of the main units and assemblies due to ease of access; duration and labor intensity of replacing the main units and assemblies.

The M2A2 ODS SA IFV is inferior to the BMP-3 in terms of dynamics, cruising range, cross-country ability and the ability to overcome water obstacles afloat. The M2A2 ODS SA IFV is superior to the BMP-3 in terms of ergonomics due to the larger volume of armored space, the presence of a ramp in the troop compartment, the absence of structural elements between the commander’s and gunner’s workplaces that impede the free movement of the crew from the fighting compartment to the troop compartment.

The BMP M2A2 ODS SA is inferior to the BMP-3 in terms of firepower:
fire resource due to the ammunition for the 100-mm gun-launcher and the 30-mm 2A72 automatic cannon, ready for use; the ability to fire from a 100-mm gun-launcher from closed firing positions; the ability to fight enemy manpower located in the close zone, due to the presence of two PKT bow machine guns, including when dismounting troops (due to the ability to fire from bow machine guns from the driver’s seat).

I guess it may end like this:
"after test of D3 prototype, it behaves well, but due to being expensive and blablabla, mass production is canceled, tech will be used in the upgrade of M60A3. … "

Thanks. Btw what year is the BMP 3 addon armor from

I have to say that 2x better pen out of the 25mm when it isn’t even using m919 iirc is pretty insane

should considered range, irl ammo test usually happens in 1000m or 2000.
APFSDS declines slower than APDS

Ik but that’s the thing, I don’t think USA has sent 25mm APFSDS since that’s DU

The bmp in the test was a standard BMP3 with no additional armour.

But there are different types of up-armoured models:

This is with the 2S24 ERA (BMP-3 Cactus!):

And these models do fire 30mm APFSDS-T as well

It has a considerable amount of protection, and they have been used in Ukraine as well

ah yes, the BTR-24

I’d imagine any enemy infantry/tanks would be suffering from a significant emotional event if that thing opens up on their position

infantry yeah. tanks could probably take them as long as it isnt coming down on them at a steep angle

true, but anything outside the interior of the tank would be toast:

Barrel, sensors, scopes, tracks, turret ring (unlikely but possible) etc.

Also its a bit like the T90M that got blinded by the Bradley, that can happen to any MBT

it got fully clipped by superior bushmaster bc gunner locked in on WT

yeah i saw that too, but idk if he was making it up to take a jab at Russia or smth.

honestly he could be serious. WT does represent those general flaws in the T series, though iirc they should be popping turrets a lot more

In game or irl?
