Taiwan rejected the Clouded Leopard II (D2 Prototype) due to lack of firepower from the 105mm but expressed interest in a 120mm version. If they offer a 120mm version with the same (or similar) turret, maybe we’ll see the turret option extended to the M60A3’s they’re upgrading. There’s already an M60A3 prototype being developed with the D2’s turret. This would be hugely beneficial. If they incorporate some type of soft/hard-kill APS, it would be quite the dynamic shift.
There’s a few of these now in service with the Russian Armed Forces.
this was denied by official, further evaluation will be done on D3 prototype. after all, with so many 105mm gun in service and the hardness of getting 120mm gun, it’s hard to say 105mm “lack of firepower”.
it’s the old M60 turret with extra armor, the D2 turret project is canceled, possibly due to being too expensive. After all, both turrets share similar protection(~300mm ke front) and electronics, why bother make a new one.
and the D2 turret is really ugly
Yeah Bradley had it beat in everything but speed and amphibious ability
and firepower (100mm gun)
true true. TOW is better ATGM than the gun launched ones but the 100mm is good for infantry support
Is this thing real?
no, April joke
I thnk it would have been better to compare the uparmoured BMP-3 and the bradley there
then youd have to compare it to M2A3 or A4
otherwise it looks bad because they are comparing a post gulf war spec to a pretty modern BMP-3 one
I think it’s just an old basic version.
The up armored one Legit Russian Bias is talking about?
But the M2A2 has ERA and additional armour, much like the BMP-3 with ERA
this is also old but once died now reborn
So they would probably be comparing the newer up armored then right, if they were to compare an up armored one
No its not, it’s just a photoshop image of the BMO-T. You can see the gun isn’t actually touching the hull. Ngl it would be cool to see though
