F/A-18A is outdated useless garbage today.

Probably, would love to see it either way

The USA doesn’t have any LAV 6.0

What even is the difference between the most modern LAV 25 or Stryker and an LAV 6.0?

The difference is that Canada build their own and the LAV 6.0 is way more modern than the LAV 25

I’m not even sure USA build LAV

Aren’t LAV 25 and Strykers also made in Canada (albeit by GDLS)

And “more modern” in what way? I’m asking about it compared to a modernized LAV 25/Stryker

The LAV 6.0 is the fourth generation of LAV equipped with the 25mm cannon, better engine, better optics and better armor

Not sure for the Stryker but all LAV are built in Canada

Stryker is derived from LAV 3, made in Canada. It’s the closest thing to a LAV 6. Like you said engine is weaker but Stryker dragoon can carry a 30mm.

Idk about armor or optics though. Could really be any one of them for optics but for armor I’d say it’s definitely between the Stryker and LAV 6

Stryker’s are produced by GDLS in London, Ontario.

Edit: Just looked it up to confirm it is in London, Ontario. That doesn’t mean that modifications and such can’t be done at other GDLS/contractor plants outside of Ontario, Canada.

The LAVs are all based on the Swiss Mowag Piranha platform, the LAV-25 is based on the amphibious Piranha II platform. Lav-III and stryker are based on the Piranha IIIH platform which isn’t amphibious but is at base level better armoured and has better cross country mobility (~350HP to the LAV-II’s 275-300 hp). LAV-6 and Stryker A1 are still based on Piranha IIIH, but incorporate upgrades from the later Piranha IV & V and improved automotive systems (new 450hp engine etc)

Just one last note, LAV-6 uses new production hulls, where as Stryker A1 is reworked hulls up to a similar standard.

makes sense why the Marines got LAV-25 then

i wonder what BR the Stryker A1 M-SHORAD would be

No more than 11.0 imo, Hellfires aren’t going to hit anything really moving and the other option is just stingers. 10.7 would be a good place imo, it’s more effective against ground targets and has a radar so should be a little higher than the LAV-AD. It’ll also double up as a pretty decent high tier IFV too.

yeah sounds fair.

i think the regular Stryker A1 with the CROWS-J might be in a tough spot to balance though. they could give it SLAP rounds for the .50 but that wouldnt be a massive improvement

Mmmmm, I honestly just wouldn’t add it. Instead add the Dragoon variant which has a 30mm cannon at 9.7, and the more advanced M1304 with its Javs and 30mm at 10.7. I just don’t think there’s a good way to add any of the 8x8 APCs with an atgm armed RWS into WT. Better to stick with the well armed ones IMO.

I’m sorry, but I regret to inform you I’m already happily married.
