Besides nukes, France is also second top arms exporter after the US, right before Russia.
The defense industry is quite important here and even has its own nickname : “BITD”
i mean france doing that with its 100% force, if germany do in 100% force it would export much more than france

As the recent evolution of french arms budget shows : apparently not. In fact its spending on defense is quite low (2% of GDP, far below the new 3.5% objective)
Besides, Germany does not have the capability to become a superpower like the US or China, but will remain of comparable size with France or the UK
It lacks demographics and size, and you can dismiss nukes all you want, they still play an important role in today’s geopolitics.
I won’t even get into the “Germany fills the bill” because as someone else said, France is also a net EU contributor.

Oh absolutely, especially on the ground. I’d say it’s no exaggeration that we build some of if not the best ground systems in the world. Our submarines aren’t bad either. Ships we’ll see how F-127 turns out.
Air on the other hand? We definitely have the resources to become a leader in that department as well, we’d just need to bite the bullet and spend the money to develop an advanced system alone for once. Would take longer than doing it partnered and be more expensive, but would probably be worth it in the long run (and may just be our only real option, given how FCAS is going)
