Why does it have a hatch at the side of the turret?
seing the placement , i would guess to ease acces to gun for maintenence , or something else still for maintenence
i never asked myself what it was there for

Well, if we are wishing…
I’d like for the nation ‘lanes’ to be expanded beyond only 5. As it stands, its an arbitrary restriction that prevents new sub trees and new lines of vehicles, like an armored car/car line to the US. And, in all honesty, we really don’t need new nations for WT, and there aren’t any viable options left. What options there are should be done as sub-trees to existing nations, or introduce an overhaul to sub-trees that allow multiple nations to use them like has already been suggested elsewhere.
Vehicle wise, I hope Gaijin continues making premiums copy-paste with a ‘skin’, with prototypes largely going into the tech tree. I’m ok with a bigger grind if it’s choked full of cool, obscure and unique vehicles, and if they are going down the copy/paste route, the Big 3 need prototypes in the TT to keep them unique and special in some regard. Specifically though, I want the M109 with rocket assisted ammunition. That would be fun to play with.

remember the BAE Mi-24 Hind-D and the Israel Aerospace Industries Mi-24V “Mission24” from the start of the 2000’s and have been passed to dev’s , turn’s out there are (at least) 2 other significant enough upgrade package that where made available at the same time that have been forgoten to time and were not made by russia , that can be haded to the game as stand-alone vehicles
saddly as you can expect , for now i only have one source so i abslutly cant go into detail yet on them
first there is a 2'nd israely upgrade package for the MI-24
diference are minor to the standard “Mission-24” , for exemple they share the HMSOP targeting system , but main’s diferences are the added ability to mount the PZR GROM-L anti-air missile on the wing tips , and the replacement of the gun with a italian OTO-MELARA Lafetta TM1978 gun mount system with the 20mm Gatling Capole М197.
Rate of fire of the M197 750 rounds/min, combat rate 750 rounds, swing range horizontally 110, vertically +20° to -50, target speed80/%.

this one on the other end shares it’s similarity’s with the BAE Mi-24 , althought there are a larger amount of diferences this time around. you have :
- THL 20 mount with the 20 mm 20 M 521 cannon . Rate of fire 800 rounds/min, combat rate 850 rounds. Swivel range horizontally ±110", vertically +21" to -50%, alignment speed 90°/s.
- Multifunctional visor STRIX from the French manufacturer SFIM. The Tiger HAP attack helicopter is also equipped with this device.
- IF the BAE Mi-24 was only cappable to cary HOT-1 (i’m not sure that’s why i’m saying IF) , this version can carry the HOT-1 throught 3 varient of the missile
- additionnal avionics modification (changes not precised)
there is technecly also the SAGEM (french company, part of SAFRAN) minor upgrade package but from what you can see under , it's not significant enough to justifie it to show up in game
(The Mi-24P on display (without registration, serial number 3532432622945) belongs to the Uzbek Air Force, with which SAGEM has concluded a contract for the modemization of twelve Mi-24s of this version) :
