This is the ultimate VT-4, also including a hard-kill APS which can be seen in the photo.

This car made an appearance at this year’s air show, but the show officials did not say it was a VT4B. Most likely VT4A1 (2024)
The only changes to the surface of the vehicle are the changes to the headlights and the side ERA

Not exactly, the one in the photo has the modernized APS launchers that were also seen on the ZTZ99A that had the APS equipped. Same RADAR’s though.

• The newer (top) and older (bottom) iterations of the VT4A1.

• The ZTZ99A equipped with the new APS launcher that was seen on the top image.

Wasn’t this created to test new APFSDS and imitate enemy armor?

There was also a Type 69 with add-on armor to imitate a T-80U frontally.
Also was equipped with Type-99 tank’s FCS components (sights, ballistic computer) to test durability of those under fire.

What other Hungarian / Romanian ‘top tiers’ could be added ?

Really excited to reach 2A7HU / KF41 / OSA AKM, but there’s not a lot of depth there.
