No, this is solely due to the loss in DeltaV (750m/s compared to the 1000+ from before). It could potentially be buffed as the DeltaV value they use is not actually the only that is known, and other sources claim between 900 and 1000. We will see if they ever put it at a higher value
MICA lofts and has lower drag, but also lost 30%+ of its DeltaV, meaning that while it turns better, it lost in time to target across most ranges

For the first time ever, I attempted 45 km launches, and… I got 4 kills!?
What is this!!! This whole time I’ve been nerfing myself by limiting my launches to 24km…? I really thought people would, like… evade once RWR begins screeching.
And I couldn’t launch all missiles because of a bug (and died while trying to fix it xD)

If you are high altitude and speed when you launch at longer ranges the missile has a lot of speed when it goes pitbull. Sometimes I’ve died thinking I had just a bit longer to be offensive before defending only to die to a Eurofighter at 12,000m alt
I also get RWR fatigue when a missile that I’ve defeated is following me chirping at me like a smoke detector in the hood

That being said, NOT every lobby is filled with… AFKs.
I’ve launched all 12 missiles on a new round and, this time, 0 hits. Everyone was active enough to gently turn away this time xD
EDIT: another match, 12 launches, 0 hits. I knew hitting people at these ranges wouldn’t be the norm xD
If only I could get into lobbies like this, even just every now and then.
Feels like the second my missile leaves the rail the enemy just knows and by the time it goes 500m out they have already managed to get into the notch and 1 chaff (if even that).
Then as I then spend 5 minutes defending from half the missiles on the other team or even just 1 phantom missile tracking me across the entire map I see the enemy players just not bother defending against my team.

You have to see what kind of plane is opposite; the situation I’m talking about mostly occurs with planes like the F-15 or the Typhoon.
Take a look also at how R-77 now has better time-to-target than AIM-120A in that chart.

this is against complaint targets, once the enemy starts maneuvering the R-77 loses more speed.
Of course the missile with one of the most powerful motors is gonna have better straight flight performance.
Will suffer from drag even in straight line, by 50km both have burnt out for some time. AIM-120A is also better for sustaining speed, especially at altitude
Given that the R-77 is now better in a straight line than the AIM-120A, I have my doubts about the AIM-120A still being better than the R-77-1 with maneuvering targets given that the R-77-1 also features even more powerful motor than the R-77.
Personally, this is why I look forward to the F-35 more than the F-22. To start out, we will most likely be getting the initial versions of both. This means, with the F-35 being a later aircraft, it will have better avionics (the F-22 will at least get an AESA radar though). The F-22 in it’s earlier variants also had absolutely NO ground attack capability, it was PURELY air dominance, like the F-16A Block 15 ADF. So it couldn’t even carry dumb bombs. But the F-35 was built from the start to be multi-role, so it will be much more useful for NE.
In order for the F-35 to have a place in the game, they’d have to actually model sensor fusion and model actual sensors in-game, otherwise it’s just a worse plane than even the F-22.
Yeah, for the US at least, the only “more modern” ARM we could get is the AGM-88J SiAW, which for all intents and purposes (for what’s relevant to the game at least), it’s just a copy of the AGM-88G that the Air Force is making to integrate with their planes.
