Speed is better than armor if you don’t suffer some absolutely massive drawbacks. The Leclerc just has too many of those massive drawbacks in game.
Just look at the T-90M. It goes all in on armor and is incredibly mediocre at best.

This is a sensible take, just was pointing out those while few, that explicitly pointed to Leclerc’s advantage in speed as the basis for many of their arguments.

Well, not really; if that was the case,
-Leopard 2A7s would use DM73
-M1A2 SEPv3s and SEPv2s would use M829A4
-Challenger 3 (TD), Leopard 2PL and Leopard 2HEL would use DM63
Etc
It’s just Sweden whoses MBTs are depicted with a potential well beyond their real one instead of being limited to it at most for some reason. The only downsides of Swedish MBTs are the 1st g*n gunner “thermals” and not having the very best reload ever.

You know the french have Leopards right? like actuall Leopards not “technicaly leopards, worst of both worlds”. And they perform the same as their dire need of a buff Leclerc.
