yeah iirc russia switched from metric to imperial in civil avaition somewhere in the 90s
btw the AMRAAM changes also affected the C-7 used on the CLAWS and NASAMS
the change was only for the A and B AMRAAM
drag buff of the C-5 and D
C-7 is a forgotten child, its a C-5 C&P so it should be affected, (also the AIM-7 changes also affected the RB-71 and its also not listed)
Where? I read they use NM for anything over 4000m
Properly to fit in with the rest of the world
It’s one thing to say that a different system is better and should be the one used and another thing to say that no one cares about the worse system that is actively and (almost) globally used. Of course people care about the system actively in use by almost everyone even if there is a clearly better option that should be adopted.
yeah there were some accidents involving converting units
ICAO annex 5. Only SI is the official system for all signatories. The problem is deprecation of other units is not timed so post war american industry decided to completely ignore that.
The International System of Units developed and maintained by the General Conference of Weights and
Measures (CGPM) shall, subject to the provisions of 3.2 and 3.3, be used as the standard system of units of measurement for
all aspects of international civil aviation air and ground operations.
3.2 is just shorthands like Litre for dm^3 and ton for 1000kg
3.3 says:
Non-SI alternative units permitted for temporary use with the SI
History of Engineering 101 lol
with the example of 15km crossrange 3km high target it changes from:
37 seconds and 273m/s hit speed
to
34 seconds and 304m/s hit speed
Any difference from C-5/D?
Yeah?
There is nothing saying that nautical miles can’t be used. It is still used globally.
Should it change? Imo; yes.
Has it? No.
Sort of. The US Air Force is not currently trying to integrate the AGM-88G AARGM-ER on its F-16s. Instead, they are currently testing the AGM-88J SiAW, which, for all we care about (how it would perform in game), it is basically just and AGM-88G with a different name.
No, it is pulling exactly as hard as it was previously.
It is just going faster, that’s all.
damn apparently the sparrow got hit with a pretty big nerf meaning its back to being similar to what it is on the live server. It should still be a little better apparently
@Smin1080p_WT are you able to speak to the armament of the F-102A in any capacity? Specifically if it could end up receiving its accurate AIM-4A, C, and/or D falcon missiles, as the current AIM-4G and F it has on the dev server are not designed for it.
