And it also explains why Su-57SM1T sounded excessively stupid even for a sukhoi designation

My first ever post in the forums because I genuinely want to ask, why is Gaijin so adamant to adding the German uparmored Leo 2? Sweden has 3 of them, and Italy and Israel get versions of what Germany should’ve received (2A7+ and 2A6EX). Now Germany gets what is basically a downgrade to the 2A7V because the Leclerc turret armor is practically useless, and the EMBT gets a worse round. Germany has been waiting 3 years for something that is on par with the 2A7V so that the top tier lineup gets depth such as the case with Sweden and the Strv 122s.

I think the big thing was that it was an easy way to throw a bone to both trees
Germany hasn’t gotten a new MBT in 3 years, and France hasn’t gotten any new domestic ground designs in 10 months
EMBT components were mostly already modeled, and could be added to both trees
Unfortunately it’s not better than the existing Leclercs (IMO) and it doesn’t appear to be what most German players wanted
Though at the end of the day France has been so content starved I’m happy we got something that wasn’t just a copy-pasted BeNeLux vehicle

Su-57M is the same Su-57, but with AL-51 engines, the ones with flat nozzle, but for now, there is only one, but by the time of the 5th gen jets, probably there will be more
Currently there is only Su-57 in the air force,
the S means Serial,
M modernized.
They will call it modernized after serially installing new flat nozzled and increased thrust engines, but for now there is only one Su-57 with those engines, that’s why it can’t be called Serial
