The meta for Fox-3s right now isnt range. Its WVR performance. Its why R-77-1 and MICA EM are king and the C5 are trash.
Meteors biggest strength is a 100km LSZ, with very good time to target. If we are lucky, it will also get a MICA EM seeker C&P rather than an AMRAAM C&P Seeker.
But wont be any harder to notch than a C5 / MICA fired from short range BVR
In WVR combat, the Meteor will be weaker than C5s, in anything other than rear-aspect shots where it can chase down the target. But C5s can do that most of the time.
So what actually makes the Meteor so unbeleivable OP that they couldnt be added sooner rather than later?
For the record this attitude of “it wont be added soon because its too OP” is the exact same thing people were telling me before the EFT was added and then before the EFT AESA was added. and in both instances, it wasnt even the strongest aircraft of the update.

eh not really, its more of a stopgap upgrade to the AIM-120 before AIM-260 is operational
the 5th gen jets really need to be added, which year you think they will add them? i think next year is possible

what top end 4.5 gens
they already added those for some nations (some almost 2 years ago now)
