Then why isn’t the Python 5 visibly different from previously? You can clearly see AIM-9X Block 2’s datalink when it got it versus when AIM-9X Block 1 did not have any datalink. They had to have added datalink receiver onto the missile*. The Derby-ER brochure states it has datalink receiver.
Receivers can be hidden. Look CAMM or METEOR.
As to why they don’t list it. Idk, it might have been a one time thing, might be something they don’t want to share again, look the fact official press is not available.
Well, either way, the Python 5 isn’t getting datalink so long as a report isn’t there. RBS98 though is very much incorrect, hopefully my report can be added to yours for developers to look at. Have any of yall noticed that Harpoons no longer sea skim? When I fire them they will stay 30-50m above the water then slowly descend and hit at like the very top of a ships side instead of staying at 1.4-4m above when it tracks with its ARH seeker.

Tbh i dont except to see more domestic Japanese air to air missiles such as AAM-5 or AAM-5B as it would mean increasing the BRs on F-15JM and F-2
