The calls for the F-14D(R) more specifically came later. Again, it would offer no difference from the current F-14D (VF-11) as its armaments would be the same in game.
Thank you for saying all that. Whenever I see posts like those, I worry that Gaijin might eventually become hesitant to add more Benelux vehicles because of how vocal some people are about disliking them. Public opinion can influence development decisions, after all.
Honestly, your response has genuinely put me at ease and helped lift some of that dread I often feel whenever these discussions come up. It’s reassuring to see that gaijin still wants to support benelux additions along side french ones, and while it would be really nice if more domestic vehicles like the dutch m39. I just also hope Gaijin will also continues adding Dutch vehicles that many consider copy-paste additions like the PzH 2000NL and the Leopard 1V, eventhough the latter has an domestic upgrade with its own fire-control system and L64A4 ammunition.
I’m thinking it’s going to be the WW1 event re-run. Fits in perfectly for mid-November since that’s when Remembrance Day is.
Plus they did use the loading screen from that event in the post so I’m copeful we’ll see that event come back. (Extra cope for some more rewards too like the Zeppelin and the planes to keep).
JSOW A, B, and C would be great to have. A and B with the same guidance as A-1 but cluster munitions and the C as the A-1 but with terminal IR guidance. There’s also JSOW-ER which is basically C but with an engine.
No, it’s moreso people don’t care enough about what is essentially Sim but with a handful of props that’s split off into it’s own separate game where you now need to pay to unlock what you already have for free. But this time with VR hand controls.
Ok i spaded the F-86E so i will say it, the site is wrong, they made the mistake while remodeling, the Saber Dog was the one with AIM-9Bs, Devs did such a terrible job about the F-86E(M), first they made it a CL-13 Mk.4 with wrong engines (they fixed that at least) and still the pilots feet are outside… even the livery is wrong, they gave it the Saber Dog livery (that got painted like that in 2010)…
It could have worked, if there were enough people actually excited to play WWI planes in a Sim format, there just really isn’t a niche for that, 2014s IL-2 has WWI DLCs and those aren’t very popular either
Aces of Thunder would probably have failed either way, but it would have stood a much better chance if they went for modern planes
Anyways, a re-run of the WWI event seems very likely and I am kinda surprised they haven’t done one before. Maybe you are lucky and the Gaijin adds the remaining WWI planes as possible rewards lol
