I think gaijin might be more hesitant to add IIR missiles to planes lacking MAW actually, since they said the they wouldn’t add those missiles before MAW was added to more (most, all?) nations
Anyone guesses for the next CM, my take will be the 13th.
Last major. it was not added with MITL like the other person said…
it was added because it is required in real life to use DL with the GBU-15(V)22. oddly enough though not required for the agm-130, even though it looks like it’s just a gbu-15 with a booster.
I think earlier than that
If we assume the update drops sometime between the 28th of October and the 11th of November. Then we could see the dev stream/dev server around the 15/16th of October. Which means the CM could be as early as end of this week or sometime next week
similar to that, is there any plans to add full instantaneous ESM to modern western planes? (superhornet, rafale, gripen E, EFT etc.)
some have been stated to have a sort of RWR/ESM receive mode in the AESA radar, but there are others with full sensor suites that still don’t have it.
And it would also be rough for any non-AESA planes to get them as you’re basically blind compared to AESA planes in detecting misisle launches. I think it’s fine if Su-30SM2 gets next-gen IR missiles or goes up against them since it has the high gimbal degree radar that can monitor missile launches.
Can see the fuze/igniter protruding out of the filler cap on one of the photos in the ticket. Showing that at least some were converted to fire bombs for Spitfires. Albeit the photographed planes are Greek Mk.XVIe Spitfires rather than LF Mk.IXc.
Contemporary Napalm/Fire Bombs were produced by converting 75 Gal drop tanks.
Some Korean War examples below with a clearer view of the fuze and arming lanyard installed, on different aircraft
When used as fuel tanks, there are two flex hoses installed from the connectors on top of the tank to transfer fuel to the plane, and a regular filler cap/plug instead of a fuze
Pretty sure the photo in the ticket saying 5in HVARs is wrong though. They look like RP-3s to me

It’s a nice photo of a Greek Spitfire with a coffman starter blister on the engine cowling though - would usually suggest it’s a Merlin 61 or 63-powered Spitfire, which is unusual with a E-wing. I wonder what serial number it was
Got to love Codmineman hypocrisy here
Spoiler
He’s complains that there wasn’t any hyped vehicles in the last update, I’m sorry but what I swear you said yourself you wanted updates to focus on more QoL issues and now your complaining about the September update being underwhelming. What in the world, bros just ping ponging his views like no tomorrow.
This is kinda why I starting to hate the youtube side of war thunder nowadays. First you had Ash who never stopped complaining then Codmineman and well we don’t speak about the Canadian fellow, but yeah bet he was just butt hurt that he didn’t get the F15EX like how everyone was asking for.
There is a reason why I literally dont follow ANY WT CC. Not one.
i knew he didn’t know what he was talking about the moment he said that gaijin is running out of thinks to be added
probably, i said 5 because this is what the source said in other sources you can see RP-3s
all of them were used for the same missions
Cmon bro Tim’s Variety is a must have. Can’t go without it, though imo his content is mostly for enthusiasts of certain aircraft or newcomers deciding what to buy etc
He was just jumping on the band wagon of “we must have QoL focused updates” like lets be real here this has got to be the best update of the year so far.
That is still very much subjective to a significant extend and thus debatable.
Could be, but there’s a risk we’ll see them do what they did for AIM-120C on introduction and hold it back for not being at the top BR.
We also already have the latest service F-2, so it’s either an experimental model with something like 3D direction finding RWR or the radar meant for F-X, or just a direct copy with new air to air missiles.
Issue with this is just that it doesn’t exist yet and we don’t fully know the armament. We already know it will rely on American missiles, so we will have to wait to even know if it could use AAM-5 still.
For the regular F-15s the current one is also the most advanced service model, though we might be able to see a sidegrade in an IRST equipped F-15 that sadly lacks HMD (which would be unfortunate for AAM-5) or maybe a twin seat F-15DJ that can perform a secondary role as EW aircraft through a dedicated pod.
We could also wait for later 5th gen, where we could get F-X 26DMU with internal AAM-5 if they don’t want to add these missiles below top tier. But this one was only partly made and Gaijin can get pretty weird about that.
Easy way to kill the entire plane off, but that would be very Gaijin.
F-15EX devblog today, i know it
Also does Warthunder mobile count as activity for Warthunder forum?
Idk if it has it but DL + IIR would make the aircraft act like 11.3 IRCCM spammers
Or like a Mirage F1
Python 5 doesn’t have DL in game, so I seriously doubt that Python 4 would get it.
It would be more like playing the Belgian F-16As in a 12.7-13.3 game.
3rd gen infrared Air-to-Air Missile replace with 5th gen infrared Air-to-Air Missile (initial) for 3rd gen fighter aircraft, 4th gen fighter aircraft and strike aircraft (late 1990’s ~ late 2010’s era)
For Belgian, Dutch and Norwegian F-16AM MLU. increase battle rating (Air AB, RB, SB) to 14.3
F-15E, F-16CM Blk 50, Mirage 2000 5F, F-15J(M), RTAF JAS 39C, USMC F/A-18C late, F-15I Ra’am, Mirage 2000-5EG and F-16I Sufa battle rating (Air AB, RB, SB) up to 14.7 ~ 15.0
Personally, AIM-9X-2 for american 4+ gen fighter aircraft with AESA radar (late 2019 ~ 2020’s era)
F-15E, F-16CM Blk 50, F-16AM MLU and F/A-18C late (USN) armed AIM-9X Blk 1
