I mean, that’s probably neat against helis and a limited amount of incoming A2G weapons, but what I mean when I’m saying Pantsir/CS/SA5-like is something with a gun that’s capable of reliably shooting down incoming bombs and missiles.

I’m not against adding it, but I’d prefer seeing vehicles that don’t need to rely on missiles to counter incoming missiles.

If they can’t be bothered to add a bunch of seperate CIWS capable vehicles, they could at the very least add a Skyguard or that mobile Phalanx and give every Blufor nation access to that, similar to how the UCAVs work

Hhhhmmm, I think the end 4.5’s next Gen IR and ECM/EW for Oct/Nov update. Next Gen Fox 3 will be for Christmas with the 5th Gens!
Huge doubt for EW, maybe a tiny bit of more modern ECM (probably towed decoys soon).
Personally, I’m not expecting IIR A2A missiles for this update, but if they are coming, I sure hope they won’t be made available at 13.0 and below…

Exactly this. These missiles used by the S-300, BUK M3, SAMP/T, and Type 03 all cost tens of millions of dollars. They should not be machine gunning them willy nilly at everything in the sky. They should only fire if:
- The target is a high priority
- The target is close to, or within the NEZ
- The target has already been up high for a minumum length of time
- The target is above a certain altitude
- The missile has a high PK
- All of these would have 2 exceptions:
- The target has already beeen fired at (so they won’t just abandon a missile after it is already fired)
- The target is inside a certain range of the SAM site, and maybe also within a certain range of specific assets like the EWRs that are supposed to be given a function soon (this would represent a top priority target that must be destroyed)
This would stop the long range SAMs from shooting someone who just took off or is making a fast popup attack (for something like an S-300, there is no point at shooting someone who is popping up for a short period of time because they will quickly get back down to the ground and break LOS)

It should be compatible with any aircraft that can fire AMRAAMs, since its meant to replace them. It even shares the same dimensions.
