@Smin1080p_WT Good Evening, i have heard alot of claims that the Ostwind 2 never existed, and now Mr magach saying this. Could you help me out, what were the devs thinking?
Edit: The Ostwind was build, but there was only a single vehicle produced?
There’s like a hand full of reports it was possibly made but nothing official and by that late in the war of them having the guns, turret, chassis and everything else to make it is really unlikely in late 1945

Not provable. It’s speculation and guesswork if it was made there’s a few reports some out of czechia but again nothing official

The Ostwind II shouldn’t be in the game IMO. Heck, the thing it was to replace has more historical documentation then this thing.
And even if it actually was build, the Germans never built twin 3.7cm’s where they added horizontally. All designs had them added vertically.
This is another we think area it’s really unknown but most of the ones pictured were used for coastal defense and U-boats and vertical its possible horizontal ones were made to test but the cannons were limited production
Its funny to me that the T-34-88 has more evidence to support its existence than the Ostwind II does…

It was more as a reply to Germany supposedly always getting their new MBTs late, while all of these were stupidly overpowered on release and added without appropriate counterparts.
Oh, well, 2A5 and 2A6 were definitely the peak of their respective updates;
However, 2A7V, the first German uparmored Leopard, came only after Sweden had gotten THREE (3) Strv 122s, so, in that sense, they did get it quite late.
It is a different topic that other nations didn’t get their proper counterparts until much later (SEPv3 coming just now) or even yet at all, but if Germany is to be compared to Sweden, it’s funny how, since 2020, Sweden has basically just been a better Germany than Germany itself.

i mean kinda? dont get me wrong the STRVs are better then the german leopards but germany for awhile has had better planes, better sams, better LTs and even better helicopters the only thing sweden had better was up armoured leos which sweden doesn’t get one with an L/55 and probably never will
i still see german mains begging for things like the 2A8, EMBT and KF51

You mean these things should never have existed in the first place, like the 1500hp engine or the LWS?
I mean, they have now a chance with there Strv 123A and Strv 123B

they were things that we didnt know about at the time, which no matter how you frame it is still a nerf with them being removed
either way the point is its funny germany got the 2A7V after crying that the PSO was a side grade when the 3TD was a straight down grade compared to even the base 2
like i get asking for those to an extent. the ones that bug me are the ones asking for the challenger 130, like why…?
