Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion

I think there is also something about the AARGM-ER being integrated on the EFT as well as germany’s next gen ARM but with the fact HOSBO is locked to the german EFT it will probably be another thing locked to the german EFT (ignore the fact that their Trenche 2 shouldn’t be able to carry brimstones as it was only introduced in Trenche 3 for the German and Italian EFTs but hey)

you are confusing it with the AGM-88E AARGM. Germany has not pursued AARGM-ER and doesnt really show any signs that they will

funny thing is, in the Grumman brochure for the ER, the EF is listed a future operator, my best guess is that they are banking on us procuring it for the EF EK at some point or someone else integrating it, only other AARGM operator is italy iirc

finland is getting AARGM-ER iirc. its the premier ARM for the F-35

Oh, looks like I need to switch topics. Maybe deliberately ignoring my posts?,Is Gaijin planning to equip the Bushmaster2 MK44 autocannon with the Mk 310 PABM-T programmable airburst round so they can effectively target reconnaissance drones? Just like the Germans use the PMC308, because right now NATO’s 30mm cannons can’t really threaten recon drones due to rate of fire issues.

I won’t mention low-BR 30mm guns like on the VBCI2 type24(25), because optical lock programmable airburst rounds pose a devastating threat to helicopters firing TOW, HOT, or even AS11 missiles.

So essentially the nations already lacking Anti radiation are gonna be even more useless going forward? Neat

Big whoop if you use a F16 or F18 legacy as your only form of ARM and don’t get the new missile

best part of this update. you can 1 shot BMPT’s by shooting their missile now, first good thing the devs have done in a while lol

It’s not consistent though

Yeah like Sean said it’s pretty inconsistent, not worth imo going for it if you can attempt to disable to turret especially if you’re in one of the overtiered LTs at top tier with no resistance to APDS at any distance

I am also wondering why a detonation of the bmpt missile or the belt doesn’t directly disable the vertical traverse or gun breeches since they are in close vicinity. It’s not like that for nato ifv’s, I wonder why that is

Nah Nato stuff has its missiles destroyed the entire vehicle deatomizes itself, hell even if I don’t have a missile reloaded the game still acts like I have ammo in there mid reload despite nothing being there

its been quite consistent with me, either kills them or fully disables them. maybe im just lucky lmao

Wasn’t the Spiteful mentioned by the devs?

Guess CV90120 has no bias going for it I guess

Some of the Spitefuls and Seafangs were passed for consideration iirc but haven’t heard much else:

The USAF jumped from the AGM-88D Block V to the -88J(SiAW), which has been tested on the F-16 as the planned integration of the -88G had some funding issues, and delays and is intended for select European FMS F-16 clients (otherwise the -88F is on offer, which basically an improved Passive seeker kit) but is otherwise carried by Italian and German Tornados (?IDS/ ECR?)

as the Baseline AARGM program was actually a joint USN, USMC, Italian Airforce program.

Future platforms include the P-8, F-16 and Eurofighter

didnt USAF get AGM-88F?

It depends on the 5th gen to be honest.

The F-22 and Su-57, for example, are built to dogfight, and can certainly go toe to toe with the Eurocanards and Flankers. The F-22 is well known for having to be heavily handicapped during mock dogfights for other planes to even have a chance.

The F-35, on the other hand, varies from being a rough F-16C equivalent (F-35A) to worse (F-35B/C). Not to mention a large number of systems present on these planes are not present in game (EW, Link 16, etc.). So realistically there isn’t much of a reason to add them yet until those systems are ready to be added. The various F-35s will also be the majority of 5th gens added to the game of course.

But if any of the better dogfighter 5th gens get added, they will do extremely well, even if Gaijin gimps them.

Not really, it was tested by the USAF for integration on the F-16 airframe for select clients like Taiwan and is basically an remanufactured early AGM-88B, with GPS/INS to give it some capability against the radar going off the air since the INS it otherwise depends on can be very inaccurate if it occurs before the missile is in the terminal phase as the F-16s, sans ASQ-213 lack the equipment for the more accurate modes and need to rely on either the RWR or Seeker which significantly reduces both accuracy and range.
