2 crew tho :)
Challenger that skipped turret day
Just two?
- That’s a huge tank, how did they not manage to fit a third guy?
- That thing would be extremely easy to kill (unless it gets that weird last man standing mechanic)
it could be run with a minimum of just 2, but usually was to be 3
Correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t the Leopard 140’s just a leopard 2 plus a 140mm? Like same protection? I believe the Thumper just had standard M1 Abrams protection, only it had a different turret to mount the 140 plus bustle autoloader (I believe the turret protection was equivalent to M1 Abrams, I could be wrong though). If this is true, then they would be similar to Object 292, just a better APFSDS round so they would sit higher.
yuck that things is so ugly
How much more pen and damage would the 130mm and 140mm guns provide?
I feel like they would be better additions right now than entering the “next” generation of MBTs
I don’t know why people like the Leopard 2s design in general, but yeah, that one especially ugly lol
I’ve seen anywhere from 800-1000 for the ATAC XM291 140mm.
the 140 on the CATTB was 1000mm of pen iirc, im not too sure
the 2a4 and 2a5 are cool I like them but the new things that they are coming out with are just so ugly, the only new mbt that looks good is the challenger 3 and even then thats because it still looks like a challenger 2
It’s exactly like new cars. Everyone thinks they need to have some futuristic, pop can, kitchen appliance look, and it’s incredibly stupid.
Aight, in that case I really think that an update adding a bunch of 130/140mm gun MBTs would be better for the balance than adding the AbramsX, 2A8 and potentially the T-14 and KF51
155mm magnet lol
The problem with adding the AbramsX, T14, 2A8, etc. is they are relatively new vehicles. It’s a lot easier to find information on the large caliber MBT cold war prototypes than it is these new things (yet for some reason, I think Gaijin will add the new before the old).
it would be amazingly nice
This thing just exists to look cool at displays, like all future tank projects. We all know the operational version will just be a heap of steel plates bolted together like it has always been.
And let’s be honest, it’ll be way better that way, even just for camouflage
