I wasn’t talking about the F-14D?
I was talking about the SU-47 give it’s pretty much just a demonstrator that is fairly popular would just about fit the idea of the DCT event. The F-14D could easily be SQN or TT

Iris t has worse maneuverability than 9x. (In game currently)
I’m not expecting it to be all that good
These are unfinished prototypes, not just demonstrators.
At least in a War Thunder context, the difference is that a prototype leads up to a planned production variant, while a demonstrator is a standalone thing. So for the prototype it may be added as intended with planned armament, while a demonstrator depends on if it was actually armed (Or if it could be armed? I don’t know anymore…)
For an example I could think of, the ATD-X was a technology demonstrator, and purely unarmed. While it was used for 5th gen F-X testing it doesn’t count as a prototype and wouldn’t be added.
But 5th gen F-X itself had notable progress towards an actual production variant, such as engines, TVC, radar, weapons bays, a fuselage secotion and more, so this might be considered an unfinished prototype.
Worse at range doesn’t mean better Top range
in a Headon fight the missile that Gets there Faster wins
and Mica isnt gonna do that, its booster does 100km yes but the seeker wont and the Impulse of the Booster isnt good enough for the short ranges well use it at in game
ASRAAM will outspeed it for the time it matters
IRIS wont, but IRIS can reliably hit you from angles the MICA cant achieve at all
Lmfao
do I count 5 almost Identical suggestions in the same month Smin mentioned?
I think there is a misunderstanding here, when I was referring to “these tech demonstrators” I was talking about the Su-47 and other demonstrators like it (MiG 1.44/1.42, EAP, etc)
The TOG II and the XF5U definitely are unfinished prototypes and absolutely are fine in WT
Surface launched and Air launched Flight models for missiles are two pairs of shoes
AIM-9L in Air battles is MUCH stronger than on the SPAA
Just had too lol
So Kikka treatment…
I wonder of Su-47’s documents are unrestricted.
Yeah true.
Su-47 is just a weird choice. Iirc the suggestion passed on the basis that there may have been provisions for some very limited armament on the demostrator to be integrated in the future, but it’s still really weird.
By the same logic the EAP could be passed as well, which we know was denied.
Sure, then we pass just one of those and this topic spends a week theorycrafting that only 1 nation would ever get that type of iconic vehicle :)
A different kind of context entirely and that’s very clear.
There might not even be relevant documents lol
Yup, it’s why I brought up the MiG 1.44/1.42 as well, while the 1.44 wasn’t armed, the 1.42 would have been equipped with weapons, a radar, rwr, countermeasures, etc, but that suggestion was deleted shortly after it was approved by a suggestion mod
not really, its the same context
they passed a British tank for germany and another much weaker tank from the same company for Britain
and you said its because theres no need to pass similar vehicles in the same month
but at the same time the Air department passed literally IDENTICAL Vehicle pairs 3 and 2 Nations in the same Passed to devs
there’s not really a good way to talk this out in a Diplomatic manner, this is literally 2 diffrent measuring sticks for the same exact problem
and you even told us the same reason why we dont understand it, its an Iconic tank but the suggestion for it wasn’t passed to the nation that uses it but for the nation that is the origin for a now International defence corporation
Kikka is an unfinished prototype.
Su-47 is weird because the argument isn’t that future Su-47s were meant to be armed, but instead it’s that “Su-47 could have been armed, it had provisions”, which would also apply to the denied EAP.
I mean gaijin did call the Challengers niche in the T90 blog iirc lol
“Britain’s top-tier MBTs are generally niche and are typically geared towards methodical combat engagements.”
and the german Jump jets, and many other similar prototypes that got denied because IRL they were never armed, even tho they were intended to be armed from the start
Im glad that we have a higher possibility of an actual CR3 now.
I do think that for clarity sakes that the 130mm challenger should be marked as “Britain & Germany” to not have this confusion happen again. Just have both suggestions linked as one pass to devs, its the same vehicle after all
