No, no- Canada is still getting it’s first 12-16(idk the exact number) as those were paid for already.
It’s the full 88 that is in “review”. If the government is just listening to the RCAF, more F-35s are all we are getting; if it is also listening to the public mixed fleet is likely.
I think it’s dumb, even more so when the true negatives are looked at. All the other G6 nations or whatever run mixed fighter fleets, with most of them ordering new airframes, the worst option, “4.5+ Gen aircraft” (including the US itself), and many are even scaling back their F-35 order.
They have to add at least some of them eventually. I can’t say when since I don’t know, but I think realistically they are going to add the J-35 after the 4 you mentioned at the very least since it is an aircraft in production and in service which does help its chances
Would also have the bonus of getting the BMPT nerfed since anything good in the French ground tree is nerfed into oblivion. (Although it’s the opposite for their air tree).
