And everyone hates it

the J-20 has used WS-10B, AL31F, WS-10C and WS-15 though

Early J-10C batches also used AL-31FN, just like some J-20s used modified AL-31s, followed by WS-10C/C2 / -15.

If they’re doing that this might not be so bad. But I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Gaijin do have a history of surprising us, for better and for worse.

Personally I’m not too surprised, the main popular 5th gens will probably lead to hype them up, then next update tey try to actually balance them.
And after that we might see some more unique prototype 5th gens down the line.

there are 3 different FC-31, usually called 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0, 3.0 is very close to J-35, though still many difference, still a testing platform for aerodynamic and other things, like the EAP, maybe a little more closer to actual operatable plane but still EAP’s situation.

no later than late 2024

the others also has these things, F-35 is not special in this situation, just these ones have a “early version”

about the next generation missile, the problem is J-20 only uses nest generation missiles including BVRAAM, and all these uses next generation IR AAM

if they add AIM-120D and R-77M it can be balanced by quantity, J-20 can only take 4 PL-15 internal

R-77M is also a PL-15 equal, at least it’s what it planned to be, 77M just get in service this year, not sure if it’s changed. I guess just 77-1. in current game, 120D isn’t much better than C, so maybe equal.

maybe Su-57M will get R-77M, F-22 late will get AIM-260A, and J-20A will get PL-16

Can someone remind me, did BVVD ever say that IIR missiles won’t come to top tier until 5th gen

No,The R77M is only at the level of the PL12A.

R-77M is longer than pl-15 in length mate. It is not a pl-12A counterpart. It was designed for medium to long ranges.

Su-57 can only carry R-77M internally. R-77-1 are too large to be fitted with their grid fins. Externally sure.

We have pics? I’d love to see it, if youve got the chance anyway.

no just going off written stuff. there probably are pictures but i couldnt tell you which it is

Yea, chiniese were trying to figure different iterations that could work best for their airframes. Very hard to know which is the final iteration most of the j-20s sat on.

ive heard that all the WS-10’s are just interim until WS-15 goes fully operational on the J-20.

Right now from ground launches it is harder to flare a 9x anyway lol, youre on spot with that. But who cares, I enjoy seeing 9X excel and not disappoint people, and it wont either seemingly w 5th gens

Length is not important; what matters is its capabilities.
