This is a problem for a tank with a turret armor configuration like the Cr2 in the game

What would be counterparts to the 2A7/Strv 122?
Israel has no options, Japan has no options, France has no options and if the CR3 is anything like the CR2 that won’t be a “counterpart” to the 2A7/Strv 122 either.
Dunno about China because I know nothing about their tanks and the two options for the US that come to mind (SEPV3 and AbramsX) don’t seem like “counterparts” either.
The 3TD in game has no blowout panels, but nothing says that the CR3 prototype and production versions also won’t have them.
In that shot you are being shot from above at a very strange angle, that usually does not hit the ammo.
The only reliable place you can ammorack through the front is on the left side of the mantlet, which is only possible due to gaijin modelling the huge external mantlet as only 30mm KE.
I have never been ammoracked through the roof in my 3TD.
They are useless in the frontal projection penetration scenario
So is having your ammo in the hull, so I guess that cancels out the disadvantages for either.

Challenger 3: Rising to the Challenge - European Security & Defence.
Most sources say the production Challenger 3 has blowout panels, the 3TD lacks them as it was just a demonstrator.
That’s true, except that Cr2 with a rifled gun doesn’t explode when played hull-down
They should just add the Leclerc XLR with SHARD for France.
Merkava Mk.4s and Type 10s need heavy fixing to be at least closer to the 2A7s/Strv 122s, but you are right Japan doesn’t have many options. At least Israel might get the Leopard 2A6E when/if they get Greece as a sub tree.
China is rough, as even the M1A2T is just a fancy SEPv2 in terms of what it’ll be in game.
US like you said should get the SEPv3, that should at least close the gap with the 2A7/122, even though the turret ring will still exist.
Britain they either give the Challenger 3 prototype and play around with it, like giving it a 5 second reload or give it different ammo. That or they give them the Australian SEPv3, however I hope they first go with the Challenger 3 prototype as it at least looks really cool.
A Challenger 3 prototype just with the new armour and a 5 second reload L55A1 would probably be fine at 12.7
I don’t know, submarine bros. This seems like we very well may not get submarines this update.
If the Q&A was part of the CM post, then it could easily be promoting upcoming content for the next major update. Now that we know that the information about submarines is independent from the last CM, it could easily just forecast submarines for some time in the future.
My hopium is running out
With how few top tier options are left to be added for most nations, I feel like the better option would just be to give all tanks that aren’t Leo 2A7s/Strv 122s a better round and perhaps better reload rates
For Merkava there is a interesting way:
Mk4 with IF APS

Yeah. I was always waiting until the Q&A if it ever comes before commiting to when it might drop. Though an update for them either way was promised about now.
It could be the big naval addition this december or it could be something that comes in the first half of next year. It is a sorta March-June type addition for them.
Hull down is pretty niche in this game though, especially if your whole tank depends on it like the Chally 2.
I have received plenty of hits to the turret front in the Leclerc/Type 10 that only took out the autoloader.
The general buff from 6 to 5 second reloads already did fairly little to help these tanks against the 2A7s/122s, it only made the Challenger 2s more redundant. Buffing the reload even further likely won’t change much.
Same with new rounds, these new rounds will change very little against the 2A7s/122s, only thing they will change is that they will make a lot of Russian 11.7-12.3 MBTs a whole lot more miserable to play.
Well, I can’t think of any other solution that wouldn’t require Gaijin putting actual work into the Leclercs, Merkavas, Types 10s, Challys and Abrams.
They wouldn’t dare to nerf the Leos, new MBT variants or tech demonstrators would leave certain nations behind and just buffing the weaker MBTs apparently isn’t a solution either.
Well, let’s hope they come out before the end of the year.
It’s a nice sidegrade, but the fixes in question are mainly tied to armour composition and modelling.
Should be foldered with Mk4M though, I much prefer IF to Trophy
