Tornados are terrible in BRs, I agree. Phantoms and Viggens can destroy it, they just can’t go BVR against it. Well, if it doesn’t come with CMs it won’t make a difference; IR missiles on that BR don’t have much range or acceleration. And no, it shouldn’t face either F-14As or MiG-29s. The others, except the Tornado, can destroy the F-14s in a dogfight, and the poor MiG-29 can barely make a high-G turn without falling from the sky. So what can the MiG-25 do besides go fast?
And what about the F5s? They’re extremely annoying, let me torture them by making them chase me for more than 10 minutes in a match.
Above Mach 1 should be pretty okay though, the plane may probably feel like it compresses at any flight regime, though it shouldn’t change the fact I also agree with Morvran that, if it carries CMs, shouldn’t be below 12.0 at all, as it’ll have the energy to kinematically outrun most of missiles except the R-27ER/Fakour-90.
I wonder if the Type 61 (Mod) comes as a standart Premium (most likely) or could it be even part of a japanes pack premium?
if its for the pack premium it could be coming with a standart Type 61 with camo netting and Sub I-II or even a M41 Bulldog with a camo net.
It could yes, in a straight line. it also has a Twr of 0.9-1.0. It won’t accelerate all that well and when you can’t turn going that fast, you’re just gonna hit the map border and then be reset to around 600 kph anyway. I’m not saying it should be lower than 12.0 btw. Just pointing out that it’s fast sure, but more in line with something like F111a that cant turn as well but has a higher top speed, in terms of performance. Also more than anything, I’m curious how well a 55 kg warhead can tell multipathing to eat it.
I’m just saying, if there was at least a tiny piece made specifically for it…
How does R-40 perform?
From what I can find, its fast, decent range and has a huge warhead.
Id assume theyd add R-40R with inverse monopulse and probably also R-40T so that it had something other than just SARH.
If its the Mig25PD variant it should actually have access to R40RD and R40TD which are improved variants which improve performance against maneuvering targets, R40Rrd gets seeker of R24r and R40td gets a much improved all aspect seeker. The warhead was increased to 55kg, from 36kg on the older r40s, with these variants as well. Should get R60m as well on the wings with double pylons.
With Gaijin balancing, it could get any, but if it does get the later missiles, sounds like it would have the best SARH for the BR.
sp Heavier R-24R you say?
on a plane without a Gun with very little G overload
so definetly below the BR of the MLA/MLD MiG-23
15G overload
that’s all you need to know
no but it might compete with the R-23R for the worst SARH for the BR
More or less, except at close range. They are BIG, HEAVY missiles. The biggest ever produced and fielded actually. So they do not maneuver well off the rail at all. They should be fine once the motor burns out and they are at speed, but off the rail performance will easily be outclassed by something like R27r or Aim7f/m/p, Even Aim7e2 is probably better off the rail.
Hmm…
though if you are using them at short range, then you are using them wrong.
Still sounds like a menace to deal with.
For R40r and R40t this is correct. For R40rd and r40td, I’m not sure this is true. The R40r/t can hit a target maneuvering at 2.5g at 20km alt. The R40rd/td can hit a target maneuvering at up to 8g within the same perimeters, which would imply improved maneuverability on the missile but I can’t find anything to confirm this.
Well and you’d have R60m for up close.
Forgot it got those too.
Facing her won’t be difficult, because if you face her except in BVR you’ll win; it will be difficult to reach her, because you don’t face her before reaching her.
8 of them potentially
