It was looking promising when they said WW1 would be a main feature but then it turned out to be 4 planes. Also the whole “paid game but once we add stuff you get it for free” and then it turned out the F4U was locked behind a paywall.
At this point they should just merge Aces of Thunder with War Thunder.

Please not. I’ve been against the adding of infantry from day one because Enlisted exists. We don’t also need VR integration.
Large live-server games tend to die when they try to cram too many different games into one package, overwhelming the average player.

We already have VR in War Thunder? Aces of Thunder is just adding proper hand controls and interactive cockpits. (Also some PvE missions that actually work and 4 WW1 planes.)

Didn’t know that, so that makes it more fair, yeah.
Infantry is still a big no-no for me

I think playable infantry shouldn’t be added. It’s just another attention sink for the devs. But AI infantry like what we had in the WW1 event or infantry that’s deployable from helicopters or IFV’s could work.

Not even that, these fighters just are so weak that they wouldn’t even be able to compete with reserve planes
Then Gaijin could add post 1918 and earlier interwar planes as a buffer against the current reserves. Against each other WW1 planes would work well and with a sufficient enough buffer could fit in nicely to the game.

AI infantry past a point sounds cool but also like… I would rather not turn every urban map which are already awful into grozny thanks.
Playable infantry if thats what they are going for can and should be its own mode and not part of the normal GRB mode.

They’d get bullied by anything that flies better than a Po-2, so it’s understandable that they’re not in WT

That is a huge amount of work just to add planes that the absolute majority of players wouldn’t want to touch
ya, I’m in agreement that playable infantry have no place in WT, despite what many others think. As Gaijin will just stuff them into GRB.
I’m not as against AI ones as the worst of them in the WW1 event, was the near 24/7 hit ping when you get shot by them, if they made it less common or turnt it off for them, it would be fine. Well, the cap holding being great if it’s for you and frustrating if you’re trying to clear the cap, as you have to hunt them and deal with players shooting you.

Aces of Thunder will release before the end of the year surely… Perhaps at the game awards? I love coping!
I don’t think I saw any performance hits when getting hit by them. But maybe it was just me?
They made for some really cool screenshots though when going back to a match in replay mode.
Spoiler
I’d love to see them just for the cinematics opportunities to be honest though.
Sorry, I wasn’t clear. I was talking about the marker for when you get shot. They’d constantly set it off, and I found that to be the most annoying piece of all of it. As I’d be looking for the threat, only to find nothing at all(or a tiny MG)
Hear me out, if infantry makes urban maps worse, maybe players will vote up the larger maps leading to more fun variety.

The MGs were extremely annoying lol
The gunners also were weirdly hard to kill
Gaijins implementation of infantry in that event was pretty bad and I don’t think infantry should appear in regular battles. For the World War modes and special scenario modes, sure, but not in regular battles.

Just saw the devblog, when was the last time tech tree WW2 aircraft content was more than special vehicles of same type?
I’m all for going to WW1, played lots of combat flight sims with thosel, like Rise of Flight, IL2 Flying Circus and Wings over Flanders Fields. Some of the most fun to be had…
I’ve played a bit of modern jets, same for modern armour, it just doesn’t get to me, the way WW2 and earlier does…

Nope. Mosquito is a squadron vehicle, making the ratio 50% for tech trees
September update satisfies with Norwegian copy pastes probably alongside new British ones
