It’s a T-33. Look at the canopy, and the squared off wingtips you mentioned. It just doesn’t have the usual wingtip fuel tanks mounted
What is needed is a total overhaul of how they handle ground attackers.
We were promised a thread to discuss that about 2 years ago which never materlised. Gaijin really needs to make a lot of changes.
- Removal of deminishing returns mechanic
- Rework of how BRs are decided for ground attackers (their “effeciency” metric is BS)
- Rework gamemode for improved gameplay and match impact
Air spawn for Vautours, Buc S1, B-66, etc etc, would help, but its a drop in the ocean compared to what actually needs to be done

It sucks especially for things where the smallest effective bomb load is enough for 2 bases

I think either a rework (major rework) or maybe a new gamemode is needed for bombers.
A new bomber focused mode or even a PvE mode would be good for them given Gaijin’s apparent lack of care about bombers.
Something like this I think could work well for bombers (plus everything else would be nice to have something to play without the complete unbalance of the matchmaker for a change).
My concern about a PvE gamemode is that
- It would be incredibly repetitive (and probably mind-numbingly easy)
- the rewards would be extremely low
- It would be a buggy mess

We need a redone SEAD gamemode where the objective is to break through air defences to get a bunch of bombers or strike aircraft through.
So there is some pvp action, but it also allows for actually using a2g stuff
That’s what I like about that suggestion in particular, it’s randomly generated with different objectives. So long as there are enough different objectives to generate from it shouldn’t be too repetitive. They could also make it challenging with said objectives or AI enemies.
Yeah given how they neutered sim rewards with a rusty hacksaw and pliers I can see them doing similar for this.
It is a Gaijin game so it wouldn’t be too surprising.
Its also really annoying we didnt get stuff like the BTR-3 variants and given gaijins past habits i have a sneaking suspicion one of them will end up as an event or premium since gaijin really likes to do that with unique light tanks and ifvs.

I really hope they don’t. If they do want premiums there’s still interesting Thai options like theM41A3 Stingray, BTR-3E1 (CSE 90LP) or DTI Black Widow Spider prototype with 30mm cannon.

All of these are prototypes, not service vehicles, and would probably still make for very interesting and unique event/premium options.

T-33 spam is unavoidable imo. It wouldn’t surprise me if it comes earlier than first Aermacchi for similar brs like MB-326B or E. I still haven’t seen any picture of Italian T-33 with 12,7 mm offensives btw.
On the other hand for Japan it can be worth it, plus they built it as Kawasaki.
Is China finally going to get a good enough SPAA or is Gaijin just going to artificially nerf China again
