Spyder is unironically worse than ADATS.
Mainly why I haven’t played top tier at all from the rumors even if it means I’ve lost my research bonus
Quite. I just tanked 5 aim120’s in my f18 and am repairing atm. I mean like direct hit from the rear and i lived, 5 times
its a recent bug
every missiles is broken
So top tier is (Polite way of putting it) screwed, got it.
I havent seen the SPYDER on live but it would have to be incredibly bad for it to be worse then ADATS
Well, it is incredibly bad.
Python is in the same WiP state from dev server. It wobbles violently in flight which drains all its energy. Constantly stalls / spins out. 2km deadzone. Kinetically dead by 8km.
Derby SR is genuinely useless. 4km deadzone. Kinetically dead by 8km… other than Strike drones it serves no purpose.
The radar is atrocious. The ‘lock box’ or whatever you call it just moves randomly around the screen. It never actually on the target for more than a second before it drifts, which is a big issue given both missiles are LOAL so often end up launching at empty space where they aimlessly fly towards nothing.
They also didn’t give it the ability to lock IR using the optic, so you’re forced to either cycle through radar targets, which takes ages to get the the thing you actually want, or use this janky clunky radar screen that doesn’t work properly.
It basically just plays like a Strela that’s exponentially more annoying to operate. (Not to even mention it’s the size of a house and has no smoke, so it dies everytime CAS launches something at it because it can’t intercept)
wheres the Gripen E 💔
currently penetration simulator of Iowa seems little buggy
in number it shows like 1 mm or 82 mm and marker being greened, but actual simulator shows that it can block shells well
It was problem in 2nd dev server too but Gaijin didn’t fix it.
I only played a few games with the ADTW, but from what I’ve seen the flight model is still amazing. I had a pretty good time against Gripen and F-18 and some Typhoons, the one Rafale I fought hit the ground so I couldn’t comment on that.
Though that was all close range fights, I think the bugged missiles of the patch do help it get favorable conditions like that more than it will once BVR is viable again.
It also doesn’t have the Maneuver Mode they said it would get yet, but considering the rest of the patch it’s probably only a matter of time after they fix the more obvious bugs. So we can expect this slight buff somewhat soon.
Really the only problem I’d see is what they did to ASMs, that have really wonky guidance and underperforming warheads right now.
We’ve hit the perfect time to add the f-ck-1. And by that I mean it’s always the perfect time to add the f-ck-1
Couldnt get a single asm to work at all personally
“Section 2.1 sets the age of player consent for Gaijin games, including War Thunder, from 18, up from 16 in the previous TOS you signed. Below that you need to be able to say you have parental consent to play and participate if asked.”
^^^ So is this setting the stage for Infantry and other things? As there was the data mines about Infantry weapons and loadouts a bit ago.
That would have been cool. And yeah we could do with a new premium coastal.
Im also hoping we get a County-class destroyer (HMS Antrim or HMS Glamorgan) sooner rather than later. Unlike the Type 21/22 Frigates. It would have a perfectly adequate gun-based anti ship ability but have the SAMs. With the AAA changes in naval. More dedicated anti-air ships are actually quite badly needed and after the mass of new BBs, a short interim break from them and getting some new destroyers and cruisers would be rather nice
They should rename coastal with something else and could be placed with more modern ships (DDG, Missile Cruisers).
I’m still routing for an Type-22 Frigate F99 HMS Cornwall (Batch 3).
Im thinking we’ll see a third naval type added actually, with perhaps a gamemode that is just ASM ships
As am I for Coastal, but I do fear it would be a bit underpowered for taking on ships with 1x 4.5" gun
