where does it say or is officially mentioned that it was designed to outrate f16 and outpull f18 ? is maneuverability even used as a selling point for the f2?.

It feels like besides 5th gen aircraft we have very little new airframes that are also at least decent performing that can be added as main hype vehicle for a december update.

That’s what I’m saying. I could see them adding a new mechanic to make up for the lack of stealth jets, god knows what mechanic they’re willing to add though.

The F-15EX might probably the best contender for the Christmas update hype wise
russia could get the Su-35 as a counterpart
China could get the J-15 or J-16
Germany, Britian, Italy could get another EF
and then they will introduce the newer IR missiles alongside it
Sweden can get the Gripen E
that are just the ones that come to mind right now
but i think that the big focous of the Christmas update might be the next gen IR missiles, similarly to how seek and destroy focused on fox-3 missiles

It’s definitely not needed, in the sense we could play just fine without them. But it would definitely be better to get them before 5th Gens.
It’s quite literally the only option too, and it’s still not a new airframe like the December patch usually brings.
But I agree the december patch will still be a big one, we just don’t know what for yet.
Really hope for something interesting in German ground tech tree this update

With the current modelling of seekers we have right now, this is true, but I would expect to see more accurately modelled seekers by that time, or at least I hope so.

That’s just it, we pretty much just have newer versions of existing airframes left to be added until 5th gens. There’s certainly enough to bridge the gap but just nothing that’s going to be completely new.
Just looking at the US for 12.0+ off the top of my head there’s the F-14D, F-14A 1998, F-15B/D, F-15C with AESA,F-15SE, F-16D, F-16C/D PoBIT, F-16C Have Glass, F/A-18B/D/E/F, AV-8B+ 2020 upgrade plans (9X+120C+HMD). No new airframes just major modifications and enough differences to feel different from previously added versions.
And there’s plenty more at lower BR’s too. Obviously we won’t see everything but there’s enough that could be added for years.

i think we will get those before christmas update , i think they will shift focus to sams maybe ? s400/patriot. maybe even infantry ? (april fools trailer).

I would say for China that the J16 is the best option there. J15 and all of its variants are Naval flankers, not really the “star of the show” like the J16 would be for a December update imo!
J-15 is in a weird place where the first ones would be a straight downgrade from the J-11B in most aspects and the later ones like the J-15T are very modern with VERY little available information and the gimped CM count of 48…
J-10C/B is pretty much the same as the Super hornet better avionics heavier and slower airframe.
