I personally don’t even think the ‘backlash’ was recognized. It simply wasn’t planned to arrive at that time, my guess.

yes hence … most of players support the idea of smaller TTs getting sub trees, as opposed to vast ones like US, Rus or China(not there yet since newer but can be)
here’s the thing, from a purely technological standpoint point India used a lot of British equipment, so if your goal is to add domestic Indian equipment with the minimum amount of copy paste, the as a sub tree makes a lot of sense I think, however Gaijin haven’t added the domestic Indian things, or added any indian skins to the british equipment they operated, which I think is a massive shame.
