Keep in mind all ARH AAMs ingame are very much in placeholder states. Their seekers, range, overall performance, is dramatically underperforming in some areas ingame. The Aim-120A IRL outranges the Aim-120C-5 ingame, and the C-5 should be so much better. Oh and the C-5 should have a longer seeker long range, it’s like 36ish km last I checked. Oh and don’t get me started on the missing smokeless motors on so many ARH missiles. The AAM-4 is so dramatically gimped it’s funny, the Michael is missing plenty of range, the Derby/R-Darter has excessive drag, the Aim-54 lacks in maximum G-pull and range, the PL-12 is also lacking in range (it should have range akin to the C-5, but that’s quite gimped as well lmao). Oh and the Fakour 90 prob shouldn’t even be ARH, but that’s another thing for another day.

All of it’s clearly done for balance imo. There’s so much wrong with those missiles ingame, and I have a feeling they’ll be fixed to a historically accurate standard by the turn 5th gen’s arrive, or when 5th gen’s arrive their missiles will also be gimped for muh balance. You should also keep in mind a F-35, even with only Aim-120s they wouldn’t be completely clowned on by Meteor carriers. The advantage of a reduced RCS cannot be understated, and the Aim-120s will more than likely have enough range to engage targets before they are even locked. F-35s would likely arrive ingame carrying the Aim-120C-7 at minimum, and likely be able to use the Aim-120C-8, Aim-120D, or Aim-120D-3 at most. Their ranges are powerful, but weaker than the meteor yes. But combined with the aircraft RCS being so low, it should be more then capable of taking out bandits with ease (that’s if it gets an accurate RCS anyway ofc). If these missile and aircraft come to the game in a realistic/accurate state, I have a feeling the meteor and other extremely long range ARH AAMs wouldn’t be as oppressive against stealth aircraft as you may think. However non stealth aircraft would definitely be at a major disadvantage, especially if they make notching more realistic and harder to do with later missiles.

Edit: holy yapfest didn’t realize how much I had typed lmao, sorry for writing you an essay xD

I lowkey would love the f22 but, i wonder how they will model in the computer selective control surfaces

what does that mean?

So i was told buy an f22 pilot that the computer system selects wether to use the elevators or the thrust vectoring. And then he said that it works like that for alot of the other flight control systems.

maybe they just have TVC bound to cobra button or at certain flight conditions

You will always use tvc unless gaijin is willing to change it

that is how it is modeled on the su30
Even tho there is proof if it being able to be turned off

Ik, but itll be cool to use it like it is irl

Also how one of the screens shows a top down of friendly and enemy aircraft by using its rwr and radar and frendlies radar and rwr

friendly aircraft would be pretty easy, and a top down view of enemy RWR contacts implies fairly accurate ranging off of just RWR which is good

I feel like committing a “crime”, that being getting to top tier air USA to put Japanese roundels on the F-22

I have a feeling @quartas121 would not approve…
