dosent change the fact that the western world got scared after seeing the r73 on the german mig-29
Based on recent useage they flare rejection is
One of the strong points.
Guys the the aim-200 peregrine to American fighters could be cool. It might make them a little strong because it would be Aim-120 and pretty much a MICA but it’ll give the US and I think possibly the UK a TV missile. (Not saying it should go to UK but yk people will beg either way)
That was more the missile and the HMS
The R-73 is great at pulling high G and rejecting flares
M1A2T is SEPv2 based not SEPv3.
Rest the most weirdposting leak list ever.
Too soon for 2A8.
KF-51 design’s not even finalized yet. Hungary will get the Evo variant, with no design revealed.
Good luck with Altay: tbf M60T should come before, for Altay to happen.
Germ Chally 3 & Ru Centauro, lol.
1997?
I also main France, and the lack of indigenous air additions has been killing me
Yeah low tier air needs some love fr, like britain
Am I wrong, friend? Isn’t that what happens in almost every top tier tank match?
The r73 may be really good in dogfights but i still think the magic 2 is better personally
Yes the 9m isn’t the greatest but it will still be the best missile in grb and sim simply because of the smokeless motor and also i do prefer the 9m when it comes to chase people because the missile has good range
And since the aim9x shares that feature if it ever comes to the game it will be the one of the greatest dogfight missile in game
im just waiting to see how gaijin butchers ASRAAM
R-73 has gotten a little better, I must admit.
The new AoA limiter mode + HMD makes the Su-30SM especially deadly. I had an end-of-match 1v1 pop up for me, where it was me vs. an F/A-18C Late, forced him to stay low, got setup at just a low enough speed to hit him with an odd angle, fired at like 0.9km, and collected the win… and without crashing at the end.
Would it be nice to have something closer to the AIM-9M with the aggressive seeker, and better sustainer? Sure. But having 10-12 R-77-1’s makes up for it, and give the R-73 a unique role to play.
Really been enjoying the Su-30SM since I got it.
Good news for you
I wonder if due to the fact IRIS-T is coming, will they rework VL allowing for free aiming, or will they keep it TOR like, just turn forward and go (very bad idea, forcing SLS to turn around all the time.)
I think there will be something new, consider the iris-t is hot launched, and it has TVC itself
also, it should come with radar command, the radar slave will direct it
Like a slightly faster R-27ET cant wait for a single puff of flares to defeat it
That paper is specifically talking about early AIM-9Ms when faced with slow rise time flares used by the Soviets.
The AIM-9M was developed and tested against American flares (as they were readily available), and apparently performed very well against them. They later found out that due to a design flaw in the seeker the IRCCM circuit would not properly trigger against slow rise time soviet flares.
Once the issue was discovered the seeker design was updated with AIM-9Ms produced after the fix no longer having the issue
I hope so, but at the same time i hope it will impact other missiles that are both hot (for example swingifre) and cold (9M331) launched
dont say hop before you jump. I can see a scenario where they limit both it and 625E to LOBL.
well i was told that russia should have build better jets whenever it was mentioned that the flanker FM is underperforming yk
just returning the favor
