Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion

Does the British Army actively put that missile in the system and have it in stock though? Gaijin enjoy their “well this isnt a missile it actually uses so no proxy” thing for the brits remember ;)

Looks real enough for me
Or do you want the >45 one?

I think it’s just 25km, maybe a little further with some wind.
60km for a 99kg missile is not reasonable, it’s already much better than missiles with similar size thanks to its clean structure

Does IRIS-T SLM not conform to the same certain events?

it’s still simply a serviced one, like Leopard or T-64

During CAMM testing, they were using special short burn motors, as if the electronics failed, the missile would have flown 60km in a straight line.
Ofc that range will be very much limited against normal targets.

I appreciate MBDA only give a “high level” overview on their systems but it really is a PITA when trying to use “official sources” to bug report. With speed as “supersonic”
Great, so in Gaijins eyes the missile is capable of mach 1.0

ASRAAM weighs 88 and is reportedly up to 50km without the booster pack. There’s a British documentary clip around somewhere I’ll link it when I find it

True, Gravehawk was adapted for the what is happening. That’s not to say the UK couldnt use it if the need arose.

Hell give me a truck with some Brimstones

I guess 60km only happen when it go totally ballistically and landed on somewhere in 60km away.
for missiles of this size, even considering progress in rocket, they usually don’t have enough energy to hit a maneuvering target after 6-8km. but it’s battery will allow it to keep flying more to hit something not so maneuvering.

not so strange, it’s air launched with a much better start energy. and rules for air launched missile range is that the range is the distance then it’s fired.

for example, AIM-120 has 80km range in game. this mean when you fire it to someone who go towards you in 80km, it will meet the target before it self destructs.
but of course you can’t always hit someone in 80km, and this range decays to about 6km when fired in rear.

As i said, 60km in a straight line.
Also remember CAMM has body lift and a long sustainer (i dunno how long it burns, but it it supposed to be long compared to the 3s(iirc)booster)

what’s this?

yes, compared to other missiles, it will rely more on it’s TVC to adjust direction, because its clean body design. fast burning is not good for using TVC

No.
TVC of CAMM is only in the VL. Rear section with the TVC uses its own gasses to turn the missile, then booster of the missile turns on, then sustainer. The missile in flight does not have TVC.

The missile body is generating lift, allowing it to stay longer in flight, and make turns better.

ah, I thought it will be more like ASRAAM.

so this is the “body lift” you said?
a cold launch system

No, that part is

And ASRAAM does not have TVC

Have all r73 and matra 2 started to go to traps or is it a twist? They just stopped giving frags, at all.

ok now I understand. the “clean body design” part in my words.
this allows it to get a less drag than normal design with strake wings(IRIS-T), but when speed drops, it will quickly loose maneuverability and lift.

did they fr turn the BvS10 into a spaa? so cool

ah more similar to TOR in the way it takes off

Would’ve thought it looked more like MICA

Fix Localisation errors I hope would be included in the next update (some localisation errors been in for a long time now)
